[OOC] I take that to mean you aren't going to proceed any further, Joel? Did you bring rope or anything to climb down with? [/OOC]

[ooc] Lol, A) I can Dim Door, B) I can feather fall, C) I can ride our magic carpet, so I'm sure as hell not burning any spells. I'm also trying to figure out the way down that was intended for people who knew the cake was a lie. No one builds a 100' pit trap as the only door in, especially if they have the omniscient foresight to know that human beings are destined to enter. Of course, I overestimated the wisdom of the prophet, too. [/ooc]
Hak and Kang wait patiently for the magic carpet to ferry them down, while looking very pretty.
K(Bardic): 11+16=27; Thoughts on the VIP passage downward?

Ahmet-Mose looks down the pit at the door below and looks around at the others. When Thet tells them that it is safe to descend, Ahmet-mose nods once and smiles. "What are we waiting for then?" And then steps off into the void, plummeting like a rock down the 100' drop to the bottom. When he hits, he throws up a cloud of dust from the impact, obscuring his figure for a moment, until he walks calmly out of the dust and up to the door, not even visibly shaken from the fall. Having seen Thet already check the door, he walks straight up to the door and tries to pull it open, preferably while everyone else is still up above the pit trying to make their way down, so that anything nasty that might come through the door will only injure him.
[ooc] Fall 100': Ignore first 60' (Landing Armor), Made the DC 15 jump check (17+w/e) to ignore 10' of the fall, take 30 ft of Damage. (3+6=9 Lethal, 4 Non-lethal) (First d6 of falling damage is always non-lethal)
Str Check to open door: 20 (Woot!)+6=26

Hak follows along with Kang, seeing no alternatives to point out, pooling his intellect with his friend's to try and come up with anything relevant.

Ahmet-Mose, grunting softly from the landing, easily shoves aside the heavy stone door as the others manage to join him with the assistance of Thet the Tinkerer's magic carpet. The door, not built for one with Ahmet-Mose's strength, settles with a resounding thud. The party, with Ahmet-Mose in the lead, weapon and shield at the ready, Thet shortly behind him on his carpet, followed by the musical assasins, the deathblade, his undead companion, and Irestil. The adventurers proceed deeper into the complex of the tomb, their light sources easily illuminating the room. Beyond the stone door is an impressive hall with a 40-foot-high vaulted ceiling supported by arches. The chamber is 60 feet wide and 120 feet long, with another stone door in the far wall. The walls are covered with murals, mostly bloody battle scenes. Along the north and south walls are five stone pedestals each five feet high, 20 feet long, and 10 feet wide. Perched on each pedestal is a majestic sphinx, crouched and ready to pounce. The sphinxes sport tawny lion bodies, and falcon-like wings. The first four pair of sphinxes have falcon heads, but the last pair has ram-like heads. Side View of the Current Area Top Down View of the Current Area; Each Pedestal Contains an unmoving Sphinx
Again, this post only contains cursory information about the room. If you want more, please post what your character is looking at, if you are searching the whole room, please give relevant search/knowledge rolls unless you prefer me to roll them based on your actions, but if you fail a search check to notice a trap, don't blame me if you didn't roll it in your post Thoughts and dialogue between the party is encouraged as well if you don't feel like your character is the one being challenged with a puzzle or skill check at the moment. If it isn't too much of a burden, can everyone please post their current health levels after the prior room? I can go back through and add them up if necessary, if you don't have time to do it yourself just add that to your next post and I'll calculate it for you. Looking back through the posts, I believe Joel has earned his 1st Fate point for 7 straight days of posting. Not sure about one day, but you posted more than once on both days around it so I will give it to you for active participation. Entitles you to a natural 20 on any one roll, must be used prior to making the roll. Congrats!

Kang looks at the statues from outside the room, attempting to stop the party from entering. "The undead thing should go and smash all of those potentially animated Sphinxes. Unless someone cares about the art of the people that cursed us. Better ruined art than ruined us."

Ahmet-Mose looks at the statues for a moment, then looks at Kang and shrugs. "Or Thet could check them out for any sort of magical traps that might trigger the transformation, or anything else."
Other than that, Ahmet-Mose waits for the others to make a decision, knowing that magical traps aren't really his strong suit.
HP: 167/202 (And 4 Non-Lethal Damage)

[ooc] I played Prince of Persia last night, so I'm getting this mostly from there [/ooc] Once it has been cleared that the area is safe, Irestil jumps across the pit, jumping off the walls. He crosses back and forth across the narrow side of the pit, wall jumping to make his way down the deep pit. Jump: Automatically make DC 30, move speed 60 [ooc] If that doesn't have a possibility of working, I'll simply set a piton, and we can lower some rope... [/ooc] EDIT: sorry, didn't notice that there was further posts... However we get down, it doesn't look like I've taken any damage...

Waiting on posts from a couple of people, I intend to post tomorrow in the early afternoon if I don't see anything before then. It's not quite a narrow pit, but I'll give it to you for style.

"Ahmet, you read my mind." Thet checks the room carefully, making sure to take extra care around the statues.
[ooc] 13+27=40 search to check for traps or anything strange in the room. I think I am at full health.[ooc]

Thet enters the room quietly and begins to search, the unnerving gaze of the Sphinxes following the movements of his magic carpet. Starting on the bottom left side of the room, he begins to sweep in a search grid back and forth. The murals along the northern wall depict graphic scenes of bloody conquest as the Sphinx Empire crushes the lesser races during a campaign of expansion. The last scene depicts a time of peace for all the Empire, with androsphinxes administering laws and judgments and gynosphinxes ruling the great empire.
The southern murals are much more graphic, depicting a bloody crusade of sphinx against the nagas. The first scene depicts nagas assassinating a majestic gold wyrm, triggering the crusade. At the front of this battle is a radiant gynosphinx with golden scales and draconic wings. In the last scene, the Sphinx Queen observes the carnage with a wry smile.
As Thet finally approaches the door on the other side of the room, the sphinxes all simultaneously lift off of their pedestals and attack.
(Blame Nate for the pause in the game for now, he still hasn't finished his character sheet so I can't calculate how many of the sphinxes hit him.)
Need initiative from everyone. I will post the surprise round actions once Nate finishes up.

"Thank the gods we can't just listen to Kang and do it the right way..." is heard as Hak and Kang simultaneously pull the dual lap harp off their back, toss it in to the air, strike sitting poses and catch it on their laps. They begin playing.

Amazed by the many murals and statuesque sphinxes along the chamber walls, Kuruanpu waits gazing about with the rest of the party as Thet moves to check the hall for traps. Suddenly, as Thet nears the end of the hall, the sphinxes animate and spring to attack.
His armor still equipped, Kuruanpu draws his flail and shield and prepares to signal Minos as the dormant beasts stands mute. "Another test of the Prohpet's perhaps?!" he growls in alarm.
Init: 5 + 1 = 6 For Minos: roll of 5, too
