(ooc) Still waiting for something that I might actually be able to help with....(/ooc)
Ahmet-Mose continues standing, watching the others. At one point he investigates the point on the mural that itrigues him, but, not knowing anything about sphinx writing or anything about glyphs or deciphering scripts, he simply goes back to waiting for the others. If he notices the others trying to rotate the pillars, and having a hard time, he will offer his services.

[ooc] lol, I love how Thet gets two different paragraphs on what he notices about the pillars... [/ooc]
Kang and Hak grab Ahmet and rotate the pillars so that the name Ankharet is all facing one direction (probably the side with murals that make more sense, but if nothing happens on that side, we try all sides).

Fixed the prior post, I wrote parts of it at two different times !
Turning them all to the same direction does not seem to make any noticeable difference. What is the final direction you leave them facing?

After trying all the directions, we leave them the direction we found them.

Unable to understand the meaning behind the scimitar in the mural, Irestil will attempt to assist the group to rotate the columns to spell out the sphinx queen's name.

Kuruanpu steps back from the mural. While interested he can glean no more from it without thorough time and research, and this is neither the time or the place. Returning to the rest of the group with Minos in tow he sees the conundrum with the columns. While not understanding the puzzle he volunteers Minos if they need be moved again. Kuruanpu takes the torch and with out a sound the undead minotaur moves to stand beside the columns.

Working together, you manage to shift the columns slowly to spell out the Sphinx Queen's name. There is no noticeable sound or distinction when the columns are aligned and facing any one direction. The party decides it best to return the columns to their original state, leaving you back where you started.
Do you guys need more information or do you have idea of what you would like to do next?

[ooc] Ghosting Thet for Nate [/ooc]
Thet searches the columns, looking for signs of how they interact, and what they could possibly activate.
Afterward, assuming there is no sign off how the columns work, he begins searching the area ahead, surmising that there may be a trap that would be bypassed should we have successfully deciphered the puzzle of the columns.
Search: 12 + 27 = 39
Take 10 down the hall: 37

Thet the Tinkerer finally floats his magic carpet to the area where the room of columns turns into the hallway towards the Sphinx door, and floats low enough to notice something amiss on the flagstones. He carefully blows away dust covering a message written in Ancient Sphinx. It is easily decipherable between Irestil, Hak, and Kang. It reads:
"When the Sphinx Queen faces west, The time to enter the tomb is best."
Afterwards, Thet also notices that there is a pit trap in the hallway in-front of the Sphinx door which covers a span of 60' x 20' leading away from the door, although after studying it carefully he is unsure if he could disarm it successfully.
Feel free to continue ghosting Nate until he starts posting again. You won't notice anything in particular if you align the columns correctly, as evidenced by the prior attempts, so you can post actions after you place them in the correct spots as well.

[ooc] Wow, when we face all the pillars west we don't notice the sound of a 1200 square foot pit trap disarming? Weak... [/ooc]

"Given this new information, it seems the columns should be faced West, spelling out Ankharet's name so that we may pass."

[OOC: Absolutely correct. Thet will be able to tell it wasn't the pit trap that was disabled by moving the columns.]

Thet stares intently from the doors to he columns. He then floats over to check the door for anything out of the ordinary, as well as a locking mechanism.
[ooc] I do apologize for being gone so long and not posting the best while I was here. Stella had surgery a little while ago and I have been working hard to take care of her and Statton. Its strange, I actually thought I would miss Joe's annoying sarcastic remarks. I was wrong. [ooc]

Upon very careful investigation, Thet notices that the door is not an actual door at all, but a facade over a solid wall. The door handles are set to trigger the pit trap, spilling anyone in the hallway into whatever lies below. After having the rest of the adventurers stand back in the columned room, Thet is able to safely activate the pit trap, which drops the floor and reveals a 100 foot drop to the hard stone below. Floating down, Thet notices a second door at the bottom of the pit. All but a 10 x 20 foot area near the east door in the pit trap would have been crushed by a spiked wall trap after they had fallen into the pit, but it seems to have been disabled. Checking the second door for traps, Thet does not notice any. However, he is not strong enough to open this second set of doors by himself.
Figure out how you all would like to get down to the bottom of the 100 foot pit and then give me strength checks to open this new set of doors.
I hope Stella is feeling better! Try to give us a heads up so we can ghost you sooner if needed.

[ooc] Oh, none of them were sarcastic. I didn't mean to give that impression. I legitimately meant every one of them. [/ooc]
Hak and Kang continue to stand around looking pretty.
