Rychar moves closer to the door, so that his chain will reach through it when open. "I'm ready to go."
[OOC] Thanks for the yup-yup, Max. (Never thought I'd be saying that...)[/OOC]

Standing a bit back with his Double Fang readied, Livio takes one look and nods. "I don't think it's locked... there's no handle or knob of any sort that I see. As far as traps... don't see any either. It looks clear. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to hide until we know what's on the other side, so if you open the door they only see four adventurers instead of five." Slinking silently into the shadows away from the door at an angle to see inside and somewhat close to edge. (Hide: 33, Move Silently: 20)
[OOC]Hey DM, did the lift stay up at the second floor area? I have a very vague idea as to what this room looks like.[/OOC]

Shrugging at Livio's assessment of the door, he looks around at the others as Livio slinks off into the shadows. Seeing that everyone seems prepared, he turns back to the door and takes up the same measure he used before, Shield up in front of him against the door, sword readied in his other hand. With a grunt he pushes at the door, making to go straight through when it opens, in an attempt to leave the doorway open for others to have line of sight through. (20 strength check).

Nanaya walked past everyone and started to make his way to the top of the tower to check it out. "I'll be back in a moment, guys. I doubt there's much up here, but it doesn't hurt the check, ya know?"
Meanwhile, back at the door, the others quickly realized that one had to pry open the doors. No handle, no knob, and certainly no 'push' sign. Or maybe there was, but nobody could understand it. Either way, the only way to open the door was to stick your fingers in the gap between the panels that made up the door and pry each side open. Or something similiar to it.
Back to the wanderer, he found the cage that was hanging from the ceiling. It was open at the bottom. "Some sick freak's idea of fun, I presume. Drops 'em onto the spikes below... Yuck." Circling around the top floor, he also found a strange fountain, spewing out a blue-ish liquid in it's red frame. Nanaya raised his eyebrow in curiosity. "Hmm... I wonder what this might be. Better bring some back for study." Pulling out a vial from his bag, he fills it up with this liquid, caps it off, and stuffs it back in his bag. A quick glance around and the half elf turned around and started walking back down towards the rest of the party.
[ooc] Because somebody had to check it out, and Fuujin is very much an adventurer. EDIT: Sorry Nick, didn't see your post. And no, you failed to open the door by pushing it. Doesn't open that way lol. [/ooc]

Seeing his push fail, he pulls the shield down and shrugs sheepishly after looking at the door again for a moment. With a swift movement, he presses his swordblade into the gap, using it as a prybar to press the doors aside, putting his shoulder into the gap when it is large enough and pushing it quickly open before sliding through the now open doorway, shield up and prepared for an attack.

[ooc] New area to explore! More traps to be paranoid about! More creatures to fight off! And what will you all do? Feel free to bug me with questions online. I'll do my best to answer them. [/ooc]

Looking around, he shakes off the feelings of dread he gets from the building, not even considering looking around for evil afraid he would get blinded by the attempt. Glancing at the walkway leading up and then down, he frowns for a moment before moving out of the doorway up a step, letting the others in.
"Well, I think we probably know what is down..The ground, and I for one have no desire to see the outside again. There might be a basement, but we don't know for sure. We do know this thing only goes so high upwards, so I vote we explore the top and then, if we don't find anything up there, we can head down and see if there is a basement of some sort. Other opinions?"
Glancing around, he turns so he can see up and down the pathway, his shield arm pointed up the path to block the descent of any would be ambushers that might appear while he waits for his companions to chime in with their opinions.

Livio stalks into the room silently, quickly prowling up the area to the left, investigating somewhat up the ramp and checking for traps and the like. (search for the main room = 18, downwards 25, upwards 30) After completing his search he steps out of the shadows in the main room (provided I didn't find anyone or anything deadly, 25 Disable Device in case I did) and turns towards the group, a curious look on his face, pacing slightly and observing the surroundings at a more in depth pace. As opposed to looking only for potential traps and hostiles.
"What is it about spikes and red? I swear they never try to catch you off guard anymore. Who honestly decides where to put all this stuff? It's not even intimidating anymore... just monotonous deathly visages: 'ohhh! this will kill you! that will kill you! the master of this place is so scary he has extra spikes he can just use on the decorating'... honestly it's like they aren't even trying anymore. Now, ya ask me. Pink. That's what would scare me. A room with nothing but pink walls and flowers strewn about a cobblestone path and lovely chandeliers. In a place like this? That'd downright scare the nines outta me. This though... this is just kinda 'oh no doooom!' all over again. They must find spikes very scary... or they could just underpay the deco guy... or then again they might all be colorblind. Wouldn't that be funny, bunch of colorblind crazed monsters... that'd just be amusing if they'd picked blue by accident instead of red. Maybe they meant blue in the first place?"
He stops himself, literally the rant and his pacing and then points at the ramp up. "That way has my vote."

Relaxing his combat-ready position, Rychar moves closer to the door to look around the other side. "Up seems reasonable to me, that seems to be the general path direction. One thing first, it'll just take a second." Walking away from the door, the stern man looks at the odd device that Nanaya is holding. "I don't know what that is, but so long as its useful, I don't really care, either. You might want to look into what you take with you more carefully, however." Rychar walks over to the blue fountain of liquid. "If this is dangerous, you should know before taking it. If it is useful, we may want more." Without hesitation, he then dips two fingers into the pool and pulls them out, drawing it to his face. He sniffs it, and narrows his eyes. When the thin substance runs off his fingers, the former paladin takes out a flask and takes some of the substance. Rejoining the party, he addresses Fuujin, "It doesn't seem immediately dangerous, but I do not recognize what it is. This bears further investigation when time permits." Turning to the oddly talkative Livio, "And while this may seem rather cliche and monotonous, you might be surprised to learn that the path of a conquering monstrosity of evil does not lend itself to either decorating skills or free time to use any possessed. Minions do not tend to be very intelligent or insightful in this regard, either, so I imagine this whole place will share the same theme. As for all the red, well, just look at the landscape outside and I think you'll find the origin of that one.
edit: [OOC] sorry, Rychar had noticed Fuujin's sample and asked about it... retroactively. That was an OOC description misunderstanding on my part.[/OOC]

[ooc] Just curious, but how did you know the fountain was up there? Nanaya is the only one that went up to the top of the first tower, and saw the fountain. The rest of us stopped at the doorway and were messing with it while he went up, grabbed some water, and came back. I'm just not sure how you knew he had the water and how you knew there was a whole fountain of it. [/ooc]

Nanaya's eyes narrowed in annoyance. "Okay, scary man. I'll be sure to put that one in the memo. Livio's silly rant of decor aside, up seems to be generally a good idea. 'Cuse the cliche reasoning, but most evil villains seem to like having their throne room or the like at the top of a building. Maybe it's the whole 'I'm on top of the world' feeling that does it." The wanderer paused his own rant for a moment to scratch his head. With a shrug, he continued. "Then again, some of the more undeady kind like the basements. But I doubt that's the case here."
[ooc] Sorry about the confusion Dave. I'm still getting the hang of the whole "terrain/room description" thing. [/ooc]

"I suppose that you may have something with your reasoning there. I never could grasp any reasoning method based on just one world, though..." Rychar says as he grins knowingly. When he does so, the man shrugs his shoulders and the shadows around him seem to fall more menacingly upon his countenance.

Mike stares blankly as he listens to the conversations. "Ladies, we're adventurers now, not seamstresses anymore. Stop worrying about the color of silk curtains you'd put up. Got more important things to do. And Nanaya, I'd also appreciate it if you don't wander off. Good way to get oneself killed, and without you we have no one capable of writing about my greatness." With a coyote grin, Mike begins slinking up the stairs, Light Crossbow empty and appearing harmless.

"About time someone took point, I was worried that I'd have to lead as a thief, I don't mind, but it's not likely it'll be as effective or as intimidating as one of you bulky fighter-types doing it. So now that Mike has the lead, shall we?" Livio slinks silently into the shadows stalking beside Mike to keep up his searching for traps going farther up than before, ready to stop Mike if he sees something that seems dangerous (20 Spot, 20 Listen, Hide 31, Move Silently 37, Search 29)
[OOC]Max, just give me a PM on my findings or whatnot and I'll decide what to do with it from there in my post, should make the roleplay a bit better.[/OOC]

Shrugging in Mike's general direction, Lameth looks at the remaining two party members, Livio having already followed, and surpassed, Mike. "Mike seems eager to lead, so I'm happy to let him. Shall we follow, in case him and his ego bite off more than they can chew?" With that he lifts his shield slightly and moves off up the ramp, keeping pace with Mike, but about 10 feet back.
([ooc]And no, I don't need to make the spot or listen check to see where you are. You don't have Hide in plain sight, and you started hiding while we were right there, so you can't hide from people that were watching you when you started.[/ooc])
