[ooc] Alright, I wanted to get it posted before I leave for my job interview/first day of work at 7 am. It makes sense to give it until when I get back tomorrow. (By the way, I posted that I would continue two days ago.) [/ooc]
The Taldan signals for silence as a ghostly swirl comes through the window. A strict woman's words are produced, "It has come to our attention that one of the boats carrying a student has been waylaid near Chelish waters. The Universalist, specifically."

A tall man appears in the open doorway and ducks his head a little as he enters from the stairwell. The man is very muscular, standing well above six feet in height. He is dressed in a collection of furs and natural materials and has a long blonde braid that trails down his back. He bears himself proudly and silently surveys the occupants of the room, giving a brief nod to the two men and woman who entered before him. The man is accompanied by and equally tall woman with flowing blonde hair, dressed in similar fashion. Though tall and of regal bearing, the woman seems to be a shell of what she might have been, as though she had been through a prolonged illness of some sort.
"Ingrid." The man says, still observing the rest of the room's occupants.
Almost immediately following the man's pronouncement, another form slips into the room. This one is a small slip of a girl, thin and pale, though not to the point of looking gaunt or under fed. Her hair is long like the man's, but red and in two braids. A pair of large round glasses perches on the tip of her nose. Her simple brown linen tunic is unadorned and belted in at the waist with intricately braided hemp. The only outstanding quality to her clothing is the large blue stone that she wears, set in a silver pendant and hung about her neck.
As she steps shyly into the room, she pushes her glasses up with a nervous gesture. "Yes, father?"
The man lays a massive hand on the girl's shoulder and gently steers her into the room. Contact with the man makes the girl look even smaller by comparison. It is almost difficult to believe that the two could be related. With his hand still on her shoulder, the man's gaze sweeps once more around the room. "My daughter, Ingrid."
The woman brightens visibly at the appearance of the girl. She releases her hold on the man's arm and begins to stroke the girl's hair with single minded attention. "Ingrid." She breathes. Her voice is barely above a whisper. "My Ingrid. Njal," She turns to the man, "it's Ingrid."
The girl, Ingrid, blushes but does not move to push the woman away. The man looks indulgently at the woman and girl, nods, "Yes, my Astrid, it's Ingrid." Then turning to the uniformed individuals, the man addresses them, "This is my daughter. We leave her in your charge." With that he takes the arm of the woman, gently pulling her away from the girl, and the two depart, leaving the girl standing in the middle of the room looking embarrassed and somewhat forlorn. The entirety of her luggage seems to be a single bag and a small trunk that she holds.

Dergon raises his hand. Regardless of the officials' reactions, he proceeds to ask, "Umm, yeah. Hi. Sir, are assistants allowed to live in quarters? We feel like it might be unhygienic to have extra people crammed into such a small place. That guy seemed especially concerned about it." He gestures directly at Ricneiros. "Of course, having an upgrade of rooms in consideration of our needs would be great too. Where should I move my stuff for that?"
Dergon grabs one of the rules/regs book off the table, the one he believes would most likely have information about servants in the dorms. He starts to stroll out of the room, not grabbing his sack of clothes and backpack still in the doorway, and stops. "We do have 7 people in here though, so we would have space for one more. At least by my count. Gimme a number crunch, Sabatto." Dergon proceeds to walk out of the room carrying the rules/regs books. He proceeds to the first floor (skimming the aforementioned chapter) and grabs a 'campus map' (or equally worthless piece of paper) on his way to the entry/loading area, expecting to find Mr. Haverly struggling there. Assuming he does, up to 500 lbs of stuff gets placed on a Floating Disk that conveniently follows Dergon back up to the dorm room (this includes if he sees any other obvious relatives of our newest guests guarding trunks/luggage).
Upon his return, Dergon walks in and says, "...forgot my campus map (or other paper). So, where are our new suite-areas?" The disk descends softly into the ground bringing the luggage pile to rest harmlessly in the common area.
[ooc] Should Dergon get stopped at any point on his way out, he claims to still be loading stuff in. Bluff: 7+12=19 (shouldn't be needed, it would make sense) [/ooc]

The dwarf raises an eyebrow at Dergon as he comes back. "This is your living area, the servants have a communal room at (insert area here) in the corner of the campus with the rest of the student servants." She then looks at Ricneiros, "Unless you'd rather keep your halfling in your room with you." She says this with a smirk.
Emaniq coughs softly into his fist as he gathers everyone's attention, "I will transport you that are here to the testing ground."
The Chelaxian murmurs, "I guess I could wait for any stragglers."
The Taldan and dwarf step up to the fire and wait for everyone to gather their important items.

Ricneiros attempts to hide his concern about the mental aptitude of his fellow students as he notices Sabatto talking to his servant and Dergon's obvious base born upbringing. He replies to the dwarven woman in very proper tones, in a far different manner than when only the other students and his slave were present in the room. He also adopts an air of formality that seems to come naturally to the boy. He says,
"No, mistress, he will be joining the other servants once he has finished unpacking my belongings. Are you sure that Master Dergon does not belong in another dorm? My father, Lord Tarik, lead me to believe that I would be staying in the dorm with other first year students. He does appear, and I mean no offense, Master Dergon, to be rather old for a first year student?"
He does not glance at Dergon as he speaks to her, but instead awaits her reply.

The dwarven woman answers in a straght foward manner, "Kid, we get all ages here, from fourteen to fourty. Assuming that you're talking about just humans."
With a thump of a staff on the stone, the Taldan impatiently proclaims, "Time to go, form a circle and don't let go of eachother's hands." He then grabs three of you, and the dwarf gets ahold of the rest and they cast dimension door.
With a wave of disorientation, all of you are relocated to a stone chamber. The light conjured by the Taldan shows that the chamber is larger than the 20 ft radius, but the ceiling can be barely made out 30 feet above. The floor is stone with a half foot layer of fine sand.
"Time for us to go. If any of the remaining three show up at your room, Aelign should bring them here." The Taldan uses dim door again.
The Dwarf makes one last comment, "Lady Madinani, the Second Spell Lord likes to rough up the students when they get here and see what you have to work with. Good Luck." she then leaves you in the darkness.

After a moment in the darkness, four small lights wink into view and hover around Ingrid's head. "So... what are we supposed to do now, do you think?"

-pre Teleport-
Sabatto looks around, obviously distracted from the rather....lacking...conversation with the Halfing by all the new people in the area. Watching all the movements with wide eyes, he continues having a wide smile on his face, eyes glowing as if eager to see what is going to happen.
When asked for a numbers crunch by Dergon, he smiles and happily begins crunching the numbers... rather audibly, but as if to himself "Wellletssee, westartwiththreecarrythefouradd28subtractthe2divideby8withthe" At this point he seems to transfer to his own unique language, full of rather technical terms, and some genuinely odd words that don't exist elsewhere, and in fact seem more like random bits of letters stringed together into words than actual words.
When Dergon gets back he smiles broadly again and announces from his spot in the room. "I crunched the numbers and it seems that we have 6 people living here although from the earlier conversation it seems that the halfling over there who was too rude to talk to me isnt going to be staying here so that leaves us with 5 plus the one that they mentioned was stuck at the docks, so that brings us back up to 6 and I think that that is right does everyone else think thats right cause I think its right."
When talk seems to start going in the direction of leaving, Sabatto quickly dashes into his room, leaving the door slightly open, and quite a few loud noises can be heard coming from inside, crashes and bangs as if of things thrown across the room, cursing in gnomish, and a heck of alot of rustling around. After a few minutes of this, Sabatto comes back out, a backpack full of stuff on his back as he makes his way into the circle forming around the fire.
-After Teleport-
Sabatto, slightly disoriented from the teleport, wobbles on his feet a bit, but quickly comes to his senses and looks around interstedly. When the Dwarf and the Human leave, (presumably taking their light source with them), Sabbato reaches into his pack and pulls out a Sunrod, lighting it quickly and holding it high. "So this is intersting isn't it anyone got any idea what to do or do we wait for something to happen to us and react to that or should we explore I bet we should probably explore around a bit and see what we can see."
With that he moves off a little ways from the party, walking ever widening circles around the party until he either finds the outer limits of the room, something interesting, or someone comes up with a better idea. He also pulls what appears to be a clay flask, filled with an unknown liquid, those most anyone with any intelligence will quickly recognize that the container is one commonly used for lamp Oil. Holding that in his right hand, and the Sunrod in his left, he continues on the course described above.

The darkness becomes much less overwhelming as the sunrod lights a 30 ft radius around you (60 ft for a select few). The group is standing at the center of a 50 ft by 50 ft room, no exits are apparent.
Sabbato, you are not sure where, but you caught a wavering in the air as you do your route.
Dergon, you hear the rustle of cloth across sand in the distance.
[ooc] I hope that you guys don't mind secret rolls when the PCs are unaware of the check being made. [/ooc]

[ooc] In order to play fair, I'm selecting spells right now (since I hadn't yet). I will deduct the ones I've used. [/ooc]
Dergon immediately casts a Light spell on a copper piece and throws it towards the sound. As the rest of his action he grabs Ingrid and Andrezi and forcefully throws them in the center of the group (if you resist, he mutters an obscenity along the lines of 'Screw it, you tank then' towards you and lets you stand where you want). If possible, the group forms up to maximize visibility between Sabbato's use of a sunrod and the area of the Lighted coin. If both "protectees" resist him he steps into the center of the group for his own safety.
"Form a circle! I hear movement that way." Dergon points to indicate. "Rough us up? This isn't rough! This is the fun stuff. Can any of you cast useful stuff?" Dergon has a wild grin of anticipation.

With several of the other students providing light sources, Andrezi forgoes casting his light spell, instead casting see invisibility followed by detect thoughts focusing in the direction that Dergon indicates.
The boy steps back away from the possible threat, letting Dergon take the lead for now.

Ingrid does not protest as she is jostled to the center of the group by a bigger boy. She doesn't say anything, but allows herself to be moved, tentatively sending one of her lights in the direction that Dergon had pointed.

[ooc] Initiative can be rolled, Dergon keeping his current, now that the foes have been identified. Kiirnodel, your see invisibility goes off, but combat starts before detect thoughts. Everyone may now post their actions and their initiative. I will put your actions in order and dictate the outcome in a round recap.[/ooc]

Initiative: 1 + 3 = 4
Andrezi makes defensive motions, casting shield. "Three of them, invisible. Be ready for summoned creatures," he speaks in a hushed tone, cautiously watching the aggressors.
