[ooc] If they came in the way everybody comes in, then The Rancor takes no action. [/ooc] The Rancor quickly stands up when three people teleport into the room he's been told is safe. Unless someone is smart enough to anticipate this and stop him, the Rancor yells "THE RANCOR KILLS EVIL TWINS!!!" and rage-fullattacks the closest one that ported in.

Hsiao flaps his tentacles and you all can hear an audible sigh: "This matters how? So these various factions make war on each other and our plane is their battleground. I would ask what my people are doing in response, but let's face the obvious, they don't share their plans with anyone. So between this news and the vision of 'Kaz' summoning us... what's the significance? I doubt these invading factions will be just wandering around our plane picking fights, more likely they'll be looking for allies and ignoring the neutral parties. Why not just... hmmm... what's that sailor expression? ...'weather the storm' is it? I'm sure I could even glean useful information from all three factions and disseminate my grafts and symbiotes for extreme battle-testing and varied racial information." He seems actually enthusiastic about the thought of planar-spanning war as a wealth of research information and testing. "If nothing else, we should focus our efforts on the prospect of the Tempest Keep. That's the only thing I'd be keen on preventing these outsiders from interfering with. It's also, if I had to guess, the reason they've chosen this plane."
Anyone familiar with Hsiao, or Mindflayers in general, will likely be aware that they generally disregard supposedly 'disastrous' events due to their detachment for other races and the extreme seclusion they generally live in.

No. If the rancor is stupid enough to do this, then Kelnozz will Greater Bestow Curse on him to make him incapable of taking any offensive action ever again.

"I've seen war. I've seen war on land and sea, in this world and in others. I have seen blood running from the wounded. I have seen the dead in the mud. I have seen cities destroyed and lives ruined. I have seen children starving. I have seen the agony of mothers and wives. I hate war and I, without a seconds doubt, do not believe that anyone will be spared its wrath, here or anywhere. I too believe that we should pursue finding the Tempest Keep. With it we can stop this war and with all hope many others to come." The first part the speech is directed towards Hsiao. Though the last few sentences are aimed at Moraad, in apparent hope that he may share Braeden's view.

No. If the rancor is stupid enough to do this, then Kelnozz will Greater Bestow Curse on him to make him incapable of taking any offensive action ever again. [ooc] Dear Deej, If Kelnozz is stupid enough to this, The Rancor gets it revoked or just resists it, acts like it's still on, and then executes him one around of attacks in about 5 minutes after he appears passive. If your character digs cursing his allies, fucking bring it so I can kill you and you can roll up someone actually on OUR team. In the mean time, I'm not a big fan of legendary bladesingers porting into a fortress that is supposed to be secure from outside magic and contains MY friends. That's why I prefaced it and asked if they broke in or walked in. It's not like the Rancor didn't just witness some crazy shit, so mellow out with the threats. Love, Joe [/ooc] The Rancor yells, "WHY IS THERE MORE THAN ONE OF EVERYBODY TODAY!?! THE RANCOR WILL BEAT ANY OTHER RANCOR!!!"

[ooc] I think first, that Deej didn't mean it as an offense to you Joe. But I am going to side with Deej on this one. If The Rancor is going to be so in character as to attack someone on sight without stopping to see if they are friend or foe, then I think it is perfectly reasonable for Kelnozz to curse him for his impatience. A curse put on you to stop you from hurting people is a lot less worse then him casting a spell and out right killing you. I think a character that kills people first then asks questions is a much bigger risk to the party than a character that curses party members who do risky and potentially stupid behaviors. Just remember, if you are going to roleplay extreme things in character then so can everyone else. [ooc]

[ooc] ...I didn't attack someone on sight without stopping to see if they are friend or foe... I clearly asked if they were intruders or not... [/ooc]

[ooc]You guys are throwing this way out of proportion. He clearly stated that if they came in like intruders would (Unannounced and not by the normal method) then he attacks, if they come in via the normal way, then he doesn't. Its a perfectly reasonable thing to assume that someone coming, uninvited without using the normal means, into a supposedly secure area is an enemy, and therefore attack it. And the Cursing of that person who is attacking a perceived enemy, is very extreme. Maybe we should pay attention to what people post?[/ooc]
"Well this is a pleasant surprise. Please my friends, sit and eat if you are hungry. I wasn't expecting such distinguished guests. Or at least not this many." He motions to newcomers and then to more seats around the table. Looking around at the others he sighs. "And Hsiao, I am afraid I don't think we will be able to sit this one out like we have so many others over the years. I know at least one of those organizations will want you dead on sight, just for being non-human. And I'm not so sure the others would be very interested in buying from you. As for Tempest Keep, I agree that what we might find inside could be very helpful in repelling these invaders, however I am afraid time might be an issue. There is no telling how long it might take us to find the Keep, and all the while those armies are fighting each other and everyone else."

"But if the armies are as powerful as is being said will we be able to some how stop them any faster than it would take us to find the Keep? If there were even only two armies, stopping one may significantly reduce the collateral and allow us to stop the other. With three though, while we may stop one, two more will still be rampaging the world. I also think that, as was brought up before, they may be here for the Keep. It makes sense that all three of them are here at the same time if they are looking for the Keep. We may want to look into that and if there is any evidence of any of them searching for the Keep, then we should go after it to stop one of them from getting it."
[ooc] Deej also clearly stated the conditions for his action. Cursing someone to ensure they do not hurt potentially innocent people is less extreme then killing someone becuase they might be an enemy. A curse can be lifted a lot easier than someone can be brought back to life. What bothers me is the manner in which Joe dealt with this. If he had a problem then he simply need to talk to Deej and not write a sarcastic sounding, snippy post. That only furthers the problem. Deej was seeing things from a different point of view than Joe was. It happens. We just need to be polite in dealing with each other and remember the difference between in-game and out-of-game. [ooc]

[ooc] CONTRADICTION ALERT!!! Then why didn't Deej just PM me if he had a problem with the way I played my character? I feed back exactly what I get from people. That's why I'll never threaten/attack any of your characters or tell you how to play unless provoked. Had Lone said that they WERE intruders and I had been the only one not surprised in the first round, would you still be threatening to curse me? I think not. Considering they both appeared as blazingly evil and our now in our house, I can't believe we're discussing me hurting innocents.
Let's consider, for a second, the world in which a 20th level barbarian lives. He can't read, he isn't a master of weapons, he isn't smart, and he can't cast. That leaves his assets at being to flip out quickly and devastatingly. That being said, a level barb is probably about as reflexive as a character can get aside from a MAYBE a rogue. The level 20 kicks in because a barb that has gotten that far has learned to clarify, as a free action, whether or not flipping out is his best option. In this case, it wasn't. [/ooc]
"THE RANCOR KNOWS WHY THEY WANT THE TEMPEST KEEP!!! IT HAS HAPPY HOUR EVERY HOUR!!! EVEN MONDAYS!!! THE RANCOR HEARD THE LAMB WINGS ARE EXCELLENT!!!" The Rancor gives the illusion of thinking, a poor act indeed. "OF COURSE, THE RANCOR IS ALWAYS DOWN TO DEFEAT AN ARMY BEFORE WING NIGHT!!!"

[ooc] Deej could have handled it differently, I didn't say otherwise. You are the one that got upset and you are the one who wrote the cutting post even after the situation was solved. Deej acted in a way that he felt his character would. Don't get upset with other people for doing questionable things when you yourself are known for doing them. I suggest we drop this whole conversation and just focus on the game. [ooc]

Hsiao sends out a telepathic wave of thought/emotion that basically equates to him giving a smirk and a shrug simultaneously. "If they see me. Something tells me they won't search out an underground lab. If they do, their foolishness will be amusing and I'll get my test results anyway. Still, I see your point. Let's keep them from destroying everything. I like a lot of this 'everything' and still have a lot to discover... it'd be a shame for them to destroy some kind of symbiote or graft potentiality. I can't think of a good way to disable any particular army and the more we involve ourselves in fighting and less in searching, the more bogged down we'll be. Braeden has the right of it, finding the Tempest Keep should be our top priority, a place of mythical power is not something, if it exists, that I wish to leave available to invaders."
Hsiao continues to think quietly, and is unusually silent on the telepathic front as though deep in thought.

[ooc] But neither Deej nor I acted at all. That's why it was shitty. Why should he be allowed to get lame over me suggesting playing my character and me NOT be allowed to get counter-lame over how he is suggesting he playing his character?
More importantly, why am I arguing with you about this? This shit was one volley and done before you chimed in. Let Deej fight his battles. Speaking of chiming in though, how come you can post like 10 times in 2 days to argue with me? There's no incentive for me to ever stop arguing with you if it makes you post. [/ooc]
The Rancor chugs a beer and crushes the stein on his head. "THE RANCOR IS READY TO FIND THE TEMPEST KEEP!!! FOLLOW UP IF YOU WANT WING NIGHT!!!" At this point, The Rancor stands up, brushes the food bits and slobber off of his face and chest, and begins to head for the door. "THE RANCOR WILL WAIT..." he holds up his right hand with his fingers spread out, "THIS MANY MINUTES!!!" The Rancor then steps outside and casually waits for whoever wants to join him (He, of course, stops is stopped to discuss further.).

[OOC/] Gentlemen. I warned you all in the beginning I am a Dick. Since this is getting out of hand I am going to put a stop to this now. If you cant keep the fighting down I will slaughter the characters responsible. In my judgement this would be be a Combination of Deej and Nate. Deej I can honestly say that if I was in a party with a Barbarian who is acting like a barbarian who stated a conditional action, and another player threatens to curse this party member. I would make it my mission as a player to execute the curser because he in my opinion presents the biggest threat to the party. Nate. Simple statement here. Shut Up. Don't aggravate the situation. Now that this is handled I dont want to hear about it again. [/OOC]
One of the older humans leans to the Largest human and whispers "I like this big guy. He's crazy but aimed in the right direction..." The Orc then speaks. "These armies are a threat yes but that is why we are here. My army has joined with these mens forces to provide defense and reconnaissance in support for your group. My men will secure the Tower until we are summoned by Moraad to a new location. The Wolfsfang's men will provide scouting. I would suggest that you seek out Cheech. That little bastard knows more then he told any of us, like usual. He is heading south into the Lands of fire to trade with the Lord of Flames."
