Raum encourages that you sleep in the center of the village, unable to provide lodgings due to his people's xenophobia but you should be safe from Kaltozaanar within the village. You are able to fully rest with no interruptions, please prepare your spells as you see fit.

Waking rested, he spends a bit of time preparing his spells and casting his daily spell allotment, and then looks to the rest. "I am ready when you all are."

[ooc] Sorry for taking so long, I didn't have the time needed to get my spell list in order [/ooc]
Before leaving, Warshade will cast a few spells. Specifically, we spend an hour having a hearty breakfast, Heroes' Feast (14 temp hp). Afterwards, Mass Snowshoes and four castings of Energy Immunity (Cold).
We should be prepared to wander the area without any worries.

Your group sets out North (hearing no objections), you travel for several hours, making good time but you notice the gigantic mound shape of Paeltoath has definitely noticed you. It grows in size that can only be a result of tremendous steps taken towards you. After a few more hours, a shape you can only imagine is humanoid in its vastness (roughly 500 feet tall) has approached, a blizzard of truly natural-disaster severity endlessly raging even tighter around it, the skies darkening to nearly night levels of illumination from the thick snow. The conditions are beyond severe and grew worse the closer the gigantic figure of the Uldra's god approached. You imagine it it still at least 100 feet away still, being the heart of the storm and from what you can see.
"Who... are... you...?" Paeltoath addresses you with a loud rumble that rolls over the land with the slow inexorable force of a glacier. "Speak... I will... be able... to hear... you..." you also notice this close that those 'larger flecks of snow' are actually white dragons. At least four of them and they seem to be enjoying their resilience to cold and using the immense Paeltoath as a mobile mountain for their nests.
Braska and Warshade, pooling their collective intellect and knowledge deduce that Paeltoath can only be one creature: a Xixecal, and based on its size, a particularly ancient and powerful one.

Staying steadfast, Warshade speaks with a calm and clear voice.
"I am called Warshade, my associates here are Braska, Jecht, and Zomiel. Paeltoath, we have been informed briefly of your protection and care for this realm. The Uldra see you as their caretaker and god. They have told us of your rivalry with the creature Kaltozaanar, and its threat to this place. We seek to assist you in removing this threat, what say you?"

Silence greets you at first, followed by that same voice, "Then do it... why... speak to me... when... your goal... is known... already...!" and the giant figure slowly begins to turn as though finished talking with you entirely.

"Well, we had thought you might take more interest in the endeavor... Perhaps any insight you might have that would better help us take down your foe. While the Uldra may have told us of your rivalry with the creature, they could not tell us much more than rumor. We are not so foolish as to head to battle without first utilizing all of our resources to gather more information." Warshade doesn't seem to pay attention to the fact that Paeltoath seemed to be leaving.

"Insight...? No... not what... you seek...! You seek... remuneration... before you... finish what... you claim... you can do...!" Paeltoath continues to stride away from you, his voice carrying effortlessly to you as he goes. "Go... kill... Kaltozaanar... or do not return...! I can... offer... no help... any marks... of mine... upon you... and... Kaltozaanar... will not... show... himself...! He is... clever... to hide... from me... in battle... he... could... not... win!!" and with that last roar of frustration, you get the distinct feeling that your audience with Paeltoath has drawn to an undeniable close.

"Well, I suppose that explains why Paeltoath hasn't taken care of the threat himself..." Warshade sighs with a bit of disappointment. "If Kaltozaanar hides himself from anything that has Paeltoath's assistance, we will just have take care of it on our own."

Jecht perks up. "Alright then. Sounds like we have a plan. Let's go do it!" He takes off running, returning a few moments later. "Uhh... Which way is the monster?"

Warshade simply sighs and points in the direction they came, "Paeltoath is North, and his rival is south. It should be this way, roughly past the village we just came from..."
Survival (if necessary): 9 + 16 = 25 [whether this place is considered a natural environment, or a planar environment, Warshade receives the knowledge synergy to Survival]
[ooc] If we get lost, I believe it will be Braska's responsibility to find our foe, Locate Creature is a Sor/Wiz spell, not Cleric. [/ooc]
[from Dave] I never really thought we'd have trouble finding him... I believe you take me too seriously, sometimes.[/Dave]

You travel South for quite some ways. You feel like you should have passed through the village again, but oddly enough you don't see it on your return trip. You travel for what feels like another few hours and night begins to darken the surroundings. You feel a strange unease about the whole situation, especially the rapidness at which the gloom around you continues to darken to the point of near pitch-blackness more than twenty feet away. Something tells you that nighttime here is a very bad thing. A suspicion that seems to begin confirming itself. The wind seems to whisper in your ears, the snow no longer gently floats to the ground and instead falls as though a wounded animal. The ground itself even feels unwelcoming as the snow has hidden ice to make it uneven and hard. Even though you have not seen it yet, this can be none other than Kaltozanaar's domain and this is no doubt its way of 'welcoming' you.
Spot and Listen checks from all party members as well as the actions you wish to take.
