Campaign Info Post shadowsorata.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=campaign&thread=518&page=1
I have been contemplating making a semi-sandbox game taking place in the Acanamirium. The Arcanamirium is a wizard university in the Pathfinder setting that is placed in the city of Absalom. (Check out the "Guide to Absalom" setting book)
Politically, Absalom is the world's largest city and is on the island Kortos, a neutral city-state surrounded by the nations of Andoran, Cheliax, Taldor, Qadira, and Osirion. You can find much more info on the Pathfinder setting wiki, pathfinder.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
This will be a Pathfinder RPG game set in a wizard's university (multi-classing is accepted). In games with only one or two arcane casters, you don't get to see the wide range that wizards have at their fingertips, and Pathfinder provides even more variety to keep one wizard vastly different to another.
If you don't have the books, the srd is on these two sites:
www.d20pfsrd.com/
paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/
The players are students sharing a co-ed apartment, it has a common room and everyone gets a personal bedroom and bathroom.
Here are the character parameters I'm looking at (subject to change on popular opinion):
Level: 5, the characters are freshman
Ability Scores: 20 point-buy
Race:Base races, beyond that message me (stick to pathfinder material)
Class: Wizard, (for multi-classing any base class or playtest class is cool.)
Feats: Message me if you want to use other books
Hit points: 1/2 HD +1 (d12=7, d10=6, etc...), full at first level
Money: Your personal cash is 500g, you will get money for experimentation and crafting based on merit to the school (there are other ways too...). For the sake of your backgrounds, you either had to pay to get in, had parents/benefactors pay for you, or got a scholarship by a professor to attend.
Wizard school: To avoid competition within the dorm, there will be no two wizards of the same school. Universalist is also acceptable.
Spells: Pick from core rules, I want to encourage getting spells from other books, tell me when you do. You may reprepare uncast spells with study from your spellbook (takes 1 min per spell lvl).
I'm not very good at writing story, the game will be mostly driven by player actions. Beyond what is initiated by the students, there will be events that involve the group as a whole when things die down.
I want to get some feedback before going headfirst into this, so don't expect an immediate game.
I am not much of an image production guy, so I can only provide what is established. If someone wants to create a layout of the university or anything else, have at it.
