Well, if I'm invisible (and not moving), my Hide is 5+90=95 (105 if we get nat 20s, lol). Move Silently (if needed - I'm not moving) is 4+50=54 (70 if nat 20). And I have Darkstalker, remember.

To the top of the wall, it’s nearly 40 feet. Once you are able to see over it or around it, you see another wall about 20 feet away. It has the same gap to opposite side as this one and the only thing you can see through the gap is cliff face and another wall. Togashi can see slightly farther standing on top of the wall but the smoke begins to thicken at this height and it reduces your vision. From what you can see, the landscape in front of you appears to be a sort of maze. You can hear fights going on within and would guess the setup of the maze disguises sounds well. Neither the middle or any entrances or exits are visible from your vantage point.
[ooc] Give me your group’s strategy from navigating the maze. Dave your visibility is 80 feet from the wall top. Max, if you have not posted by the time I post again, you will be dead. [ooc]

Not seeing any commotion on the wall with Togashi he quickly climbs the wall and joins him at the top. Looking over the landscape he smiles. "We'll keep to the tops of the walls."
(I can easily climb the wall I believe (+14 to climb) and can then auto make the 20 foot jump between wall tops even without a running start. Unless someone suggests otherwise, thats my plan for now.)

After seeing the layout of the would-be trap that the battle takes place in, Kale gives a short laugh, he then proceeds to find the center of the maze.
[ooc:] Maze vs. Minotaur, I win. Minotaurs have a natural immunity to Mazes, he cannot get lost in one, and will therefore (assuming no immediate interference) find the center with ease. As far as I know, this should work, no questions asked.[/ooc]

"Minotaur, lead on. Although stay with us, so we may see over obstacles that may impede the path."
[ooc]I'm okay with the auto-win on maze-navigation, unless it seems to not be working, then I'll speak up...[/ooc]

[ooc] I'm pretty sure the "all nat 20's" thing was only for my little stunt sequence, which has ended. This is something new. [/ooc]
Ssorthisz agrees with allowing the minotaur to lead.

"Lead on. We'll continue keeping watch from up here."
[ooc] Yeah, I didnt figure the nat 20 thing continued outside the sequence, but didn't know for sure. Regardless I still auto the jump checks, even without a running start. +43 to jump and its a DC20 to make 20 feet with a running start, DC 40 without. Cake walk for me. [/ooc]

Salazraen follows wordlessly along behind the rest of the group.

The scalamagdrion's stubby wings beat furiously to keep him aloft above the group. He follows the minotaur as they approach their destination. His imp finds purchase on his shoulder, picking casually at the scales along his neck, causing the occasional snape from the dragonlike creature's strong jaws, but the imp stretches easily out of the way.

With the minotaur at the lead, you make your way through the maze with relative ease. The only change to the environment in the maze is the smoke filling the sky is much lower here. Veins of red hot liquid rock still flow through the ground. The weapon made walls seem never ending, standing as ever present indicators that this world does not like guests. The edges of the walls are lined with weapons and the gore of unfortunate creatures hangs dripping from them. As you make your way through the maze, you interrupt several small battles. If you stay to finish any of them you find only mundane items and little real challenge.
[ooc] Climbing up the walls is doable and balancing on the top takes some effort but jumping from one to the other is dangerous and will cause some harm. Do some RPing and I will have a much longer post around Friday. Several tests coming before fall break. Max, your character is dead. If you want him to make a miraculous recovery talk to me. Soon! Togashi seems to take longer than normal in the shadows for a moment, with a dark blur hanging over the dead body of our comrade. When it passes, the body has been laid straight and dignified, hands folded on its chest. "He fell from stubborn pride. He will learn that lesson for his next life." He reappears, skin now ashen gray and once again floating through the air behind the minotaur.

(You say harm? how much harm we talking? I was under the impression from the size it seemed these walls were that it would be fairly doable but whatever. If its enough damage that my Fast Healing can't keep up with both, then I will just follow along with the Minotaur I guess.)

Ssorthisz notes Togashi's little remembrance, and finds it ironic, since it was little more than an our ago that he was the one saying something along the lines of 'death rites are pointless now', or here, or something like that. He wonders if this is hypocrisy, or simply that he only seems to care about those who might be called his friends. He thinks it's more likely to be the latter, assuming that strife elementals are capable of mortal emotions.

Salazraen smirks, looking about and casually states (to no one in particular) "Well this is entertaining... perhaps we'll actually do something soon... and that's two dead people? In under a day? What happened to forces of evil wanting to live forever? We swear, after our absence evil just isn't what it used to be... oh well. As long as we're successful it matters not."
He stops near a body (assuming there are plenty of dead/near-dead around from all these 'minor skirmishes' we didn't have to do) that is still squirming in agony and calls out: "Also, you're all doing it wrong! This is how we administer last rites..." and stabs his clawed hand into the helpless victim's throat, spilling blood onto the ground and silencing the whimpers of a near-death creature. Salazraen snickers and twirls his rod for a moment while shaking the blood of his other hand and then proceeds to follow the minotaur once more.
[OOC] Perhaps I've missed something, but can anyone tell me why this game is moving and not Xorvintaal (both of them), Omega, and Shards? I've been seeing posts from Dave and from Nick and from Nate and you three are the primary movers of my Xorvintaal at least. Admittedly I've not been around on AIM due to my hard drive failure so I'm not available 24/7 for interactive questioning, but I can still modify posts to include what's missing if indeed I am missing something (in my games) and I can still respond to PMs. Just an idle curiousity given Omega all I need is someone to open a door and for people to roll initiatives (or you can try to negotiate) and in Xorvintaal I just need people to post what they are researching or who's helping who with it or what they're doing. Hell, just PM me with it even if you don't want to share (not sure why you wouldn't want to but okay). Also, both of my games are even open to new members at the moment and still there's no sign of movement. All the same, just kinda wondering why only ONE game is moving. I know I can't check in every minute (and I am currently without my books, but a good deal of it is committed to memory) but I can still post frequently using another computer. All the same, just wondering why there's only one game moving when it seems like for the first time ever we have an abundance of people posting.[/OOC]

"Simply wanting to live forever is not the same as actually managing to do so."
Ssorthisz gives a look that kinda says: yeah, I know all about that sort of thing.
"But, I guess our fallen...comrades...have already made that abundantly clear."
He didn't want to say 'friends' in that sentence, as he reserves that as a special honor, and most typically for those of his kind. The others here have not yet earned that honor in the time he has known them.
