[ooc] A few things I want to mention before this game starts.
1. I am instituting the 2 day posting rule. If you have not responded to one of my posts or one of your teammates posts then I am going to assume you stand there like an idiot staring off into space and I will ghost you.
2. If I have not posted in a few days without giving prior notice, TELL ME. Please don’t talk to everyone else first. There are going to be times in the near future when I am going to take a few breaks but it is my full intension to somehow warn you when I do.
3. Do not expect the enemies you face to be directly from the books. If you fight something and it does something that is not in its stat block in the monster manual, don’t be surprised. This is my game and thus I am presenting the blood war and fiends the way I perceive them.
4. Your group has been working together for sometime now. You are a team. You may want to work out in RPing or at least have an idea about how you feel about your teammates.
I think that is everything for now. So, it is my distinct pleasure to introduce you to… [/ooc]
With a heavy thud, the now dead body of the final devil slams into the ground. His blood spills out to mix with the vast amounts of blood that already stains the gray soil. Lexi grunts as she pulls her spear from the devil’s corpse. She brushes a rogue strand of hair from her face, the only piece that is not matted down from blood and sweat. Her armor, a chain link skirt and top, is just as flattering as her normal choice of attire and seems to compliment her every move. She pauses for a second as the small nicks and cuts on her perfectly sculpted body heal shut. A quick scan from her keen eyes reveals nothing moving but those that represent the forces of chaos.
“Good work boys, daddy would be proud. Now let’s take what we can and get the fuck out of here. A good blood bath always gets my juices flowing.” Her seductive manner is utterly lost on the nearby dretch she winks at. She then starts barking orders which obviously exclude your group.
This battle has been one of the biggest and most challenging for sometime. Unfortunately, that is not saying much. For all the peons and servants under Abduxeul’s rule, the battles may have been tough and most of the time life ending, but for you they are little more than practice. Abduxeul himself has been absent for some time and Lexi has been handing out orders. Nothing really big or out of the ordinary has happened for quite a while.
As you all are going about your post-battle rituals, you hear your names being shouted in a familiar high-pitched gravely voice. Bacnex, a unique quasit, hovers next to a gate that he has most likely opened. “Hurry your asses up and get through the gate. Direct orders from the big guy himself. I can’t hold this forever, hurry the fuck up!” He speaks in his usual impatient disrespecting manner. Had it not been for the fact that he is Abduxeul’s personal messenger, he most likely would have become someone’s meal along time ago. But he not only holds a high up position, he also possesses many powers that no other quasit has.
Knowing that Abduxeul hates being disobeyed and Bacnex usually doesn’t lie about his lord’s orders, you one by one make your way through the gate. Through the fissure you see a flat rocky surface surrounded by crashing waves. The grayish-brown footing shines like marble and seems large enough to comfortably fit a few dozen people. Waves slam into the sides of the small isle spraying mist into the air. From your point of view it is difficult to tell just how far up the plateau-like island rises. Thick dark gray clouds lay over the sky like a blanket making the lighting of the area dim at best. Lightning arcs through the clouds, illuminating the entire area in only short momentary bursts. You can see three figures standing at the edge of the landing. Abduxeul stands in the center aiming a large vicious bow into the sky. To his sides stand two of the fiercest looking balors you have ever seen. They carry not only their normal sword and whip; they are also decked out from head to toe in various types of magical combat gear.
Once through you notice a winged figure flying circles above the island. With a sharp twang Abduxeul releases his arrow and you hear an almost gargled scream. The creature plummets towards you and slams into the ground about ten feet away between you and your lord. It looks like a tanned human with white feathered wings. A few of you recognize that this is an astral deva. Its eyes, ears, and tongue have been viciously dug out and its hands and feet have been gruesomely hacked off. Abduxeul casually walks over and kicks the lifeless body so that its chest is face up. “Well shit. It actually died this time.” With a swift kick the body is sent flying into the water with a splash.
His demeanor and expression sharpen quickly, becoming deadly serious. His eyes look from person to person, nearly boring a hole through to the back of your skull. “Steel away your doubts and forget the rumors you’ve heard of my absence. I need your minds sharp and your weapons sharper. I have set events into motion that will change the course of this war. This will involve you, so you had better be up for the task. I need something and you are going to fetch it for me. Recently, a portal has opened up to a place that very few thought even existed. It is said to hold a great many things lost and forgotten. Your first task though is to get there. Many creatures and beings want to be the only one’s with entrance to this realm and so the portal is now in the middle of a battle field. On top of that is seems none of the inhabitance of the layer the portal exists on are happy with all the new visitors they’ve been having. Make it through to the portal, that’s your goal. Once through the portal, Bacnex will provide you with the next stage of the mission. Bacnex will also provide you with travel and any further information you need. If you have any questions for me ask them now.” The demon prince crosses his arms and stands like a statue waiting for a reply.
