A man flags down Adion, motioning him over towards him: "What was that all about eh SOLDIER?" The man resembles Ceyx in all descriptions and pictures you were given. He is leaning against the wall with his arms folded across his chest. He appears to be unarmored and has only a pistol with an axe blade affixed to it. He has a sly smile on his face and seems to be very curious as to what you're doing.

Adion spits on the ground (away from both of us) and growls, "I'm no SOLDIER. Let's just say that they want to take me somewhere that I don't want to go back to"
Note to DM: I'm looking for a moment where his defenses will be down, he didn't come to me without a back up plan. The first time his eyes glaze over in thought or he looks away, I aim to hit him with stunning fist.

"Not a SOLDIER? Don't lie to me, you have all the makings of one. Unfortunately, if you'd said you were an ex-SOLDIER I would've heard you out longer, but saying you're not one when you clearly are or were, well...!" his hand glows brightly for a moment and then it flares up (Fortitude DC 19 to avoid being blinded) and then he quickly dashes backwards. You can take one AOO attack towards him thanks to your looking for openings to attack.
Mercury and Marius, you both see the flash from nearby and then see the man that matches Ceyx' description dash out from a nearby alleyway. You are about 38 feet away.

Moving thirty feet towards the man, Marius will lift his staff and slam its end on the ground, activating a Gravity effect around himself in a 45 foot radius circle, Warping the effect to exclude Mercury. Fort save DC: 33 to resist.

Fort Save:19
Alright I'm pretty sure that matching the DC means that I saved, but I'm not positive. So I'm gonna continue on like it does, if it doesn't I flail around blindly and shout different profanity.
AOO: to hit 25 (including the -5 for power attack) Damage if I hit: 37 (5 of which was lightning damage)
At my next action I leap into the air for my jump attack
... Sorry it took so long to post I was having some issues that I hope are all cleared up now. I promise I don't intend to make this a habit.

[ooc] For the record Russ, you are probably (not 100% sure of this) in the area of my Gravity well when it goes off. You'll prolly need to save against that as well... Oh and yes, Hitting a DC on the nose does save you against it. [/ooc]

[ooc] alright then, thanks Nick [ooc]
Fort Save: 29
alright then with this new information I really don't know how to react. If gravity is a weight adding effect then I hit the ground sooner than expected and try to chase him on foot (at 5 ft/ sec) If it's just a slow effect, then I'll be stuck in this jump for a while or until I bounce out.

Seeing the fleeing man who appears to be their target, Mercury takes action. He speaks a word of power, and gestures forward with his hand. A barred cage of magical energy now surrounds the man who seems to be Ceyx.
[ooc] I cast forcecage on him, barred form.

Ceyx brings up his metallic gun and parries the blow from Adion's spear with it, catching the swing across it and sliding back along the ground in addition to his dashing away. As the gravity and the force cage clamp down violently around him he utters a few angry curses and Marius notices him stomp a foot and then blink out of sight. Marius knows the direction he traveled, as well as even how far, are random from some form of unstable teleport effect. It is likely he didn't even manage to leave Tibris Town... nor that he'd want to as one man against the wilderness.
After he's gone a few of the people who'd been watching shrug and keep moving, but Adion recognizes a large orc standing nearby standing there laughing with a familiar: "Gurawhawhaw!!" from before. "What's that then oi? You SOLDIERs having trouble with somethin'?" He gives a toothy grin and is casually tossing one of the iron spheres he carries in his hand up and down as though he had been ready to use it before but hadn't. Adion, you can tell his lack of use of it is likely because he was undecided which 'side' of that scuffle to use it on. Clearly he is no friend of Ceyx.

"You might say that." Adion replies. "This one's been causing problems and giving us the slip for far to long."

Mercury slowly closes his eyes and holds them closed for a second before opening them again. He says nothing, but his reaction to how the plan so far has worked - it speaks for itself.

Cursing under his breath he looks around and then dismisses the Gravity well surrounding him. "Waste of a perfectly good Gravity...." Turning to face the Orc and Adion he shakes his head. "Great plan so far. And I think our cover is broken." Turning back he looks towards the warehouse like building that he had sensed the weird materia readings for earlier. "No idea where he went to, that was a rather unstable teleport. But he's mostly likely still in the city." Looking towards the building he continues thinking, trying to discern what to do next.

Seeing as how he's being mostly ignored aside from the one man's comment about it, the Orc turns and leaves with a single "hrmph."

[OOC] wait up now, I figured the rest of the team might have something to add. When I see that they don't I intend to continue the conversation [OOC]
"You look like you had some unfinished business with him yourself there." Adion says motioning towards the iron sphere. "Seems like he's made a few 'friends' in this town. Anyway we can help each other out here?"

"Gurahawhaw!" He laughs with his back to you still, "I don't know anything about that! Business you say! Gurahawhaw! Boy, you're fresh meat out here waiting for the first bloodthirsty predator to sink his teeth into! When'd they start sending out greenhorns and callin 'em SOLDIERs?" He continues chuckling but he motions you close and, surprisingly in SOLDIER Code, adds: "Come then, you stay out here like this and you'll not only never catch him, you'll lose any chance you have."
With that muttered he booms out again: "Alright then! You SOLDIERs need somethin' to rile ya up! Really stir up that monster-blood of yours! Gurahawhaw!!" and he clasps a hand around Adion's shoulder and with a grip like a vice steers him towards a ramshackle building that you think might be a bar.
[NOTE: Since you guys seem to not really post actions and the like, I'm just going to ask right now if you want me to just post 'options' for you to agree with. In this case it'd be: "Do you follow the strange orc's lead or do you resist?" Just a thought. I kinda don't want to do that, but you guys seem a little aimless. Anyways, lemme know.]
