Appearance:
Corruth's most noticeable feature is actually not his appearance, but what he is wearing. Corruth wears a dark black shroud over his equally black armor. He always keeps the hood from his dark pitch black cloak over his face, only removing it when he is doing more than walking or talking. Seemingly pasted to his face is a scowl full of scorn and contempt. Only when he fights does this frown become anything more. Upon drawing his wicked black Scythe, which he named in honor of his Draconic patron, his scowl contorts into an insane smile of glee and carnage. This drastic change in his demeanor is caused by his multiple personality disorder, which seems to only take hold of him at the sight of freshly drawn blood.
History:
Corruth grew up the son of carpenter in a small village in the middle of a wide forest. There was nothing significant about him, at least from his own perspective. What was unknown to him until his later youth was that he was unstable.
Because of how small the village he lived in was, it was mostly dependent on the work of every single person that lived there. Therefore, most were expected to work from a very young age. It wasn't long into his like before he went on his first deer hunt. He went with his father, who was an experienced hunter and gatherer. After a few hours, they spotted a single deer wandering the forest. When Corruth's father shot the deer, something inside Corruth clicked. The young boy leapt at his father, only to be caught. Corruth screamed in insane glee, as his entire body dematerialized. He went through his father's grasp, and directly for his throat. At the end of the ordeal, Corruth had ripped out his father's throat and drank his blood. He was only 12.
Years later, covering up the lie of his father by telling the village that he was assaulted by a bear, Corruth experimented in secret with his disorder and his power. He learned that he had two personalities, a calm side, and an unstable side. His unstable side only came out at the sight of blood. He also learned to control the strange power he appeared to be born with. He could become incorporeal. This trait appeared to be the cause of his insanity; perhaps something tweaked in his genetic structure, or even just a curse placed upon their family by some angry wizard or spirit. Regardless of what had cause these imperfections, he learned to control it. Over time, it took no more than his mere thought to become insubstantial. He was only 19.
After a while exploring his thoughts and feelings, Corruth realized how special he was. Nobody was ever going to understand him, and nobody was ever going to be able to quench his thirst for power, especially is such a pitiful little city. Corruth's mind turned to evil, and he discovered the art of undeath and realized the only things that could truly share his power and feelings with him. The young man studied through days and nights, learning his art, perfecting it in the name of Nerull, his newly adopted god. After years of study and hard work, he had finally done it. He had made the perfect creature that understood his feeling, at least in some vague way. He was only 21.
Years of adventuring made Corruth's personality hard and callused. He no longer had any cares for the material world. Corruth's only fear was himself, for he knew that if his insanity ever truly took over, it would mean horrible consequences to all those around him. He grew detached from the real world, and had forsaken all living counterparts. It was at about this time that he had come across a dragon like no other. This dragon knew what it was like to be greater than all others of it's kind. It knew that power and greatness could only be achieved through personal power. Most of all, this dragon was the epitome of all power that Corruth wished to one day attain. On that very day, Corruth swore his allegiance to Vrtra.
Other Notes
Corruth's insanity has taken a toll on him. He is no longer afraid to lose anybody close to him, and he feared nothing but himself during battle.
