      Special Abilities
Clouded Vision: Meena cannot see anything beyond 30 feet, but can see as if she had darkvision.
Eidolon: Meena has the ability to summon to her side a powerful outsider, called an eidolon, named Rysin. Rysin has formed a link with Meena, who will forever after summon an aspect of him.
Meena can summon Rysin once per day in a ritual that takes 1 minute to perform. When summoned in this way, Rysin’s hit points are unchanged from the last time he was summoned. The only exception to this is if he was slain, in which case he returns with half his normal hit points. Rysin remains until dismissed by Meena (a standard action). If Rysin is sent back to his home plane due to damage, he cannot be summoned again until the following day. Rysin cannot be sent back to his home plane by means of dispel magic, but spells such as dismissal and banishment work normally. See Below for Rysin’s specific statistics.
Bond Senses: Meena can, as a standard action, share the senses of her eidolon, hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, and touching everything the eidolon does. There is no range to this effect, but the eidolon and Meena must be on the same plane. Meena can end this effect as a free action.
Life Link: Meena has formed a close bond with her eidolon. Whenever the eidolon takes enough damage to send it back to its home plane, Meena can, as a free action, sacrifice any number of hit points. Each hit point sacrificed in this way prevents 1 point of damage done to the eidolon. This can prevent the eidolon from being sent back to its home plane.
In addition, the eidolon and Meena must remain within 100 feet of one another for the eidolon to remain at full strength. If the eidolon is beyond 100 feet but closer than 1,000 feet, its current and maximum hit point totals are reduced by 50%. If the eidolon is more than 1,000 feet away but closer than 10,000 feet, its current and maximum hit point totals are reduced by 75%. If the eidolon is more than 10,000 feet away, it is immediately returned to its home plane. Current hit points lost in this way are not restored when the eidolon gets closer to Meena, but its maximum hit point total does return to normal.
Fluid Nature: Meena receives a +4 bonus to your Combat Maneuver Defense to avoid being disarmed, grappled, or overrun. A creature trying to confirm a critical hit against Meena has a –4 penalty on their confirmation roll.
Fluid Travel: Meena can walk on liquid as if it were a solid surface. Walking on the liquid does not harm her; she can walk on acid or even lava (as if walking on a solid temporary crust), though she would still take fire damage from being near the lava. She can move across this surface at her normal land speed. The duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1 hour increments.
Summon Monster: Meena can cast Summon Monster spells as a spell-like ability, the spell level is determined by her power level. The spell functions as normal with the exception that the summoning lasts for 1 minute per caster level (rather than rounds). Meena can have no more than 1 Summon Monster active in this way at a time. Any active Summon Monster spells currently active are dismissed when she uses this ability.
      Physical Appearance
Standing a little over two and a half feet tall, Meena is small, even for her race. Her petite frame seems fragile, almost like she might break if you were to press too hard. Her dark brown hair is usually worn down and runs past her waist. Her eyes are most distinguishing, what used to be blue, has faded to gray. Meena's eyes are nearly useless with her clouded vision, and her irises have faded in tandem. Apart from her eyes, which are odd and unsettling, she has beautiful features. She does not smile often, but when she is truly happy, it brightens those around her.
She generally wears comfortable clothing, usually loose clothing tied for functionality while aboard a ship, she also goes barefoot nearly without exception while aboard. When land bound, which is something she avoids as much as she possibly can, Meena generally wears the same clothes, though she is more likely to wear footwear as the ground is "dirtier" inland without the "waves to wash it clean". On special occasions, Meena might clean herself up, but this has happened so rarely it is not certain if even she knows what she would wear.
      History
Meena was raised on the streets, she isn't sure if her parents died or abandoned her, but she doesn't remember them. Born nearly blind, she mostly had to depend on the kindness of others, which wasn't entirely hard for her, being a cute blind girl. Meena managed to find a small band of misfits that would accept her. At the very least, they found advantage by using her talent for gaining pity and being a mostly unsuspecting distraction. In private, most of the others tended to either ignore or bully, being the smallest of the group she was of course an easy target. One of the older human boys, however, took pity on her and guided her when he could so that she wouldn't stumble on the unseen obstacles in her way.
One fateful day, she got separated from the group and became so desperately lost she could not find her way back. She had wandered into an area of the city she had never been in, and because of her blindness had no way of discovering the way back through normal means. Desperation took hold and she wandered aimlessly for what seemed like hours. This was when she discovered the ocean, the surf crashing up against the wharf, which she had never even known existed. She gazed upon the crystal surface and the waves eased her mind, washing away the panic that had so recently gripped her. Meena sat by the ocean for what seemed to her like only moments, a happy moment, calm and peaceful, unaware of anything else. Hours passed by in a flash and eventually that one boy found her, as he was the only one to think of even looking. He woke her from her trance and guided her back to the others, but she etched that route into her mind so that she could find her way back.
Time goes on and eventually the group aged. Meena, being one of the youngest to begin with saw most of the group grow up and move on. Included among them was her guardian, the human boy who aged so much faster than she did. She missed him after he was gone, and began to spend more and more time by the ocean to calm herself. The small gang's leadership changed hands over this time, and the new leader had no caring for Meena. He had been smallest of the group before she came along, and once given someone smaller that he could bully, he had been one of the worst of the group that abused her. This bullying festered until even he did not know why he didn't like her, he just didn't. One of his plans eventually needed a patsy, someone they could push the blame so that the rest of the group could get away. He volunteered Meena, knowing that her frailness and disability would prevent her from defending herself. With none to defend her, she was caught by the local guard, put in jail, and with nothing to help her, sold into slavery. She spent a few years passing between owners that could use a small handmaiden, someone to do cleaning or other trivial duties. Those years away from the ocean pulled at her heart like a vice, her melancholy overcame her and she made mistakes. Her lack of strength was already a point against her and stopped being wanted for the simple jobs. The slavers had trouble selling the small halfling girl that couldn't see.
Meena's stature eventually caught the wrong sort of attention, a dirty pirate captain with a sick interest in young girls. The man couldn't help himself when he saw the small halfling, and sad to say, the slavers were happy to get rid of her. Unknowingly, Meena went along, oblivious of what her fate would be. Her spirits lifted when she caught wind of the salty air as they approached the ocean. The pirate could barely contain himself when he saw her spirit liven, his sick perversions playing themselves out in his head as he anticipated what he could do once they were safely to sea. Meena was locked away in the captain's quarters, her hands chained to a wall. Soon, she began to understand what was going to happen and fear began to seep into her former excitement to be near the ocean. That night, the ship now out to sea, the man came to his quarters ready to find the release he had been waiting for since he had broken his last slave. As he set upon her, Meena couldn't do anything, too small and weak to fight back, she could do nothing but close her eyes, cry, and cringe in fear.
That night, the crew, who knew of their captain's monstrous ways, were dreading when the screams would begin. Hoping that they would be short, so that they could move past their guilt at being unable to stop them. But what they were greeted with was not what they were expecting. These screams were not the cries of the little girls that had come before, but the shouts of horror of a man. At first confused by what they were hearing, they took a moment to react. Before any could get to the captain's quarters, the screams had already been quiet for too long. When they burst into the room, the only sign of the captain they could find was the blood that seemed to be everywhere. Meena, still sobbing in fear, her clothes torn, tattered, and bloodstained, was still chained and seemingly helpless. The mystery persisted, as the crew could find nothing to explain the missing body, or where the threat had come from.
The first mate, now captain by all rights, freed the frightened halfling, wrapping her in a fresh blanket taken from his quarters. He knew that she couldn't possibly have had anything to do with what happened. Small as she was and blind, Meena could not have possibly done something such as this, and was only a recipient of fortunate circumstances. A kinder man than the previous captain, this one showed her the ways of the ship. They found that despite her inability to see the landmarks, she was a talented navigator, and as this was formerly the first mate's duty, she was given charge of keeping the ship's charts. She spent all her waking hours either examining the charts or staring aimlessly into the passing waves.
When they returned to dock, Meena pleaded to stay aboard, but the crew remained unsettled by what had happened. The kind first mate gave her a bit of gold so that she might be able to make her own way, but they had to leave her behind. Distraught by the abandonment, Meena wandered aimlessly into the strange streets of this new and unknown city. This time with none to protect her, she became an easy mark for thieves. She wandered her way into a dead end and was there confronted by the strange trio of thugs. Scared, Meena closed her eyes, flashing back to the memory of that first night on the ship. When no attack came, she cautiously looked about, the thugs were gone, replaced instead by a large serpent-like creature she had never seen before. But somehow she knew this being, she felt safe, and knew that this is what had protected her now twice from danger. Meena bonded quickly with Rysin, as that was his name, somehow knowing everything in that one instant.
Afterward, with new found confidence, Meena found herself a new ship to work with. She knew that she did not want to be away from the ocean, that this was the life she was destined for. With Rysin by her side, nothing would be able to stop her.
