Zomiel walks over to the sword and gives a look over. "Dibs." He pauses for a moment and looks over at Braska. "What exactly is it besides a really cool looking sword?"

"Well to put it in your terms.. Its a really cool sword that is really good at smiting those of the 'good' persuasion, and which can rip incorporeal creatures from that state into a more corporeal one for short periods of time." Looking over it one more time he shrugs and floats on, calling over his shoulder. "Oh, and it can summon a duplicate of itself that is in actuality a Black Blade of Disaster one time per day for a few seconds (AKA 1 round)." With that he seems to arbitrarily choose a direction and begins floating in that direction, unless someone says otherwise, following the path that leads downwards, figuring that down deeper into the dungeon is their destination.

The blade master grinned. "Sounds good to me. I'll take it!" He snaps his fingers and pulls out one of his flametouched iron swords, sticking it in the ground, and then took the new awesome sword, swings it around a bit to get the feel of it and then stores it in his glove. Zomiel then grabs the anti-evil iron sword and just carries it as he follows the mage. He pulls out a fresh cig and lights it with a funny look. "Nothing like a good smoke after a good fight..."
[ooc] James, can I get stats on that sword for my own character sheet?
>>>+4 Unholy, Ghost-Rip (Ghost-Touch that forces incorporeal creatures to become corporeal for 1d4 rounds upon a successful (damaging) hit), Scimitar that is capable of summoning a Black Blade of Disaster (Spell Compendium) once per day for one round that is shaped like a scimitar twin of this blade. The blade itself is a Dakkus Black Twiblade (for naming sake).<<<[/ooc]

As you move downwards you find that the angle becomes gradually steeper until it is rather tricky to safely traverse, although not too great a problem. After about 60 feet of walking/hovering/what-have-you, the ground flattens out abruptly and in front of you is a door which looks startlingly familiar... it looks very similar to the door you saw in the very beginning. Perhaps one of the other directions from the beginning path is where you are now? You're uncertain, regardless, the door lies ominously in front of you. (It appears to be untrapped and unglyphed)

"Well.. if this is what I think it is, it seems rather pants on head retarded, but whatever. Since the trend here seems to be for me not to get blasted to shreds, would you care to open the door Jecht? Not that its trapped or anything... but you never know." With that he continues hovering there, occassionally glancing back "Up" the way they came, trying to figure the apparent maze out.

"... Oh shit, I just remembered something... Not that I want to derail us, but I think this should be addressed." Zomiel takes a drag from his cigarette. "Braska, remember that weird black energy crap that went through me when that shadow demon hit me earlier? Yeah, what was that?" I hope it's out of my system, but it doesn't hurt to check in with the know-it-all mage...

While the loremaster is thinking Warshade walks over to warrior.
"Let me take a look at the wound..."
[Heal Check: 14 + 44 = 58]
After a few moments contemplating the problem, Warshade casts a spell.
Spontaneously cast: Restoration
"You should be all right now, but I'll keep an eye on the situation, I don't know what that will do to you, but too large a dose may prove problematic"

"I agree with Warshade. That seems like it was some sort of suffusion of 'Omega' energy. Its what has twisted most of the creatures in this place to their current forms. That thing we just fought was actually just a simple Shadow Demon so hopped up on Omega Energy that it was some sort of monstrosity. It seems that some creatures in here will transfer it with a touch, so I would be careful. Too much of it will act as a sort of latent 'poison'."

"Well, how 'bout you just keep those things from hitting you anymore. That should fix the problem."

The blade master nodded at the whole monster lesson. He then turned his attention to Jecht's smart ass remark. "Can't avoid everything. I don't have this nice magical barrier of 'Fuck You' yet." Zomiel pauses for a moment as he considers what he just said. "Is there such a thing? Whatever. Let's move on."

"Yeah, its called wall of force.." Disregarding the others, and being bored of waiting, he calmly floats forward and pushes the door open, full expecting to see the room they started in.

The door removes itself in the mannerism from before and you see only a curtain of filmy blackness beyond it sparkling as if the blackness is devouring any motes of light as though they were tangible objects. The blackness seems to be flowing as though a waterfall of sorts and a sense of ominous foreboding comes from it as though it would attempt to consume anything that touched it.
[[There is no Lore Check, this is a trap of a kind and it hasn't been encountered before in any records. Simply put I'd prefer the players solve this one through their own intellect and wit or turn back...]]

"Well.. how interesting.... let the tests begin." And with that he pulls a small rock out of a pouch and casually casts Light on it, before flicking it into the darkness to see what happens.

"I guess I'll sit tight a bit and let you thinker types work on this one." With that, Jecht takes a ready stance, prepared to throw himself in the way of anything incoming.

It seems to part the dark cloudy sheets for a moment before they re-envelope and seemingly extinguish it's light. The substance seems to almost look like a waterfall of darkness and you broke the flow for a moment with the light, but not too terribly long, probably about 2 or 3 seconds before it consumed the light tossed into it.
