Yeah, but I'm going for more of the classical character. This character is more old fashioned Archer with a bow than new age Techie gun user. But I won't rule it out. I'll give it a look over once you get it all posted.

I'm having issues with copying the text from the .pdfs (Its hard for the text recognizer to work on all the background pictures.)
Anyways, I'm just going to change the setting to Pathfinder, so all of those deities are available. The geography of the area won't match the established setting, but just consider magic, feats, equipment, base classes, and prestiege classes, and such to work the same as Pathfinder does.

you have listed: "combat alchemist"
Is this the same as the Alchemist class currently in beta?

Just so everyone knows, at this point I am most likely going to be making an Oracle/Summoner, while this does not take full advantage of the Gestalt advantages I think it would make a very interesting character. If someone else would like to play one of those two classes, I may think about changing it, but until I hear from someone regarding that I won't be making any different plans.
Looking over both classes, I will probably be a Wind Oracle (control weather anyone?) and a Summoner with a Serpent Eidelon (mostly it makes more sense for being on a boat, plus constrict is more useful than trample in this environment, once we get that far). I'm open to suggestions otherwise, my second choices for both would be Water and Quadruped respectively. Oh, and I'm trying to decide on my Oracle Curse, I may be thinking Clouded Vision which would have an interesting synergy with Wind Sight. I also like Deaf, but that one needs a sort of approval from the group, as well as DM acknowledgement about how communication would work in that situation.

It's actually not the same class as listed in the beta. The setting I was planning to use has a lot of custom classes, but without everyone having access to the books, it will be too difficult to use. The only alternative if people /are/ interested in playing the IK setting, I can disseminate the books over AIM fairly easily.

Well, I dont know what the IK setting is exactly, but im up for it. It might be easier if you put the books on Megaupload and posted the links here for download.

Ok, the files I have are going up on MegaUpload now. I'll post the download links tomorrow.
I will also post an updated character creation guide as well.
Once everyone has looked over the new base classes, if anyone has interest in one, we can talk about how to convert it over to Pathfinder. Same with the new races.

Some of the material is from other books which I am still trying to find, but if you are interested in a class I will look for it.

Without truly looking at the material you gave us, how much of it is actually important for this game? I don't particularly feel like doing homework to play in a game that as time goes on I am becoming less and less interested in. If you are dead set on using this setting, go ahead, but don't expect me to read extensively into it...

Its really up to you guys, I was wanting to run a pirate themed game and thought the setting would add flavor. If you guys aren't interested in playing in an unknown setting I can use the Pathfinder setting just as easily.

Hey, I'm all for running around in a new setting. I don't really know the pathfinder setting anyway, so either one is just as new to me.
And also, keep in mind Ben that just because we are playing in the setting doesn't mean that you need to know everything about the setting. That would be like telling someone who knew nothing about Faerun that they had to go read everything about Faerun just to play in a game set in that world.

Ummm, that's basically what I said. I'm fine with playing in whatever setting, I was just letting cOMMUNISM know that I have no intention of reading the campaign setting. As long as he is ok with that, then there we go.
Since I haven't gotten much input and I'm basically on the fence about the specifics I'm still not sure about my character. Right now I'm leaning towards a Blind (Clouded Vision) Oracle of Waves, but a few hours ago it was a Deaf Oracle of Wind so...
The Summoner levels are pretty straight forward, just need to decide on the Eidelon's evolutions. With only 5 points it isn't too difficult, 2 points on Gills and the ability to Swim, possibly an extra point to increase the swim speed. After that, 2 more points to modify its attacks or give it better armor and whatnot... pretty straightforward.
EDIT - Oh, just so its clear, I was basically planning on being the ship's seer or one in training if there was plan to already have higher level NPC's on the ship...
The Eidelon is going to be my guardian, still deciding if it is going to be Small or not. Would a Small Serpentine Eidelon be "carry-able"? Y'know do the whole giant Snake thing...

As a note (having started looking over the Iron Kingdom stuff) glancing through the 'IK Players Orientation Book' is probably a good idea. I'm about halfway through it (and its only a short 25 pages) and its got just about everything I can see anyone as a player needing to know about the setting (Unless you want to delve deeper into the specifics on the individual Races, new classes, prestige classes, and specifics on equipment). Its a fairly quick read and has alot of useful information.

This still going to go as a game? we had some interest there in the beginning but only 2 of us have made characters...
I know I haven't finished my character sheet, but I was sort of waiting for more info like the traits and whatnot.
