Name: Emilia Aliases: Emi, Em, several dozen others that nobody but her and the Boss know about Profession: Varied responsibilities Emilia came to the Crimson Orchid at age fourteen, and her unusual talents have made her a valuable member. Though her face is well-known among those who deal with the Orchid, her spellcasting abilities are a secret not shared outside the gang. (Her more esoteric powers are disclosed on a need-to-know basis even within the Orchid.) She's responsible for patching up wounded gang members, and often serves as a negotiator. Emi is pleasant-looking but physically unremarkable; the extravagant cloak she favors tends to draw far more attention. Her ability to blend into almost any social situation is uncanny, and she can shift from distant to polite to downright terrifying in an instant. It's almost impossible to discern what she's really thinking or feeling. Her room has at least a dozen maps of Anasylum hanging on the walls, in various levels of detail. Nobody is really sure why. www.rpgwebprofiler.net/view.php?id=61550(Proper backstory available to DM and Boss Bloom upon request.)

...lol. Someone forgot to 'Apply Public Permission'. Probably cause he was tired. Regardless, it's a quick fix. You do this by following these steps: 1) Finish you character to your satisfaction
2) Click 'Save Changes', so that you return to RPGWebprofiler screen. (it's black, with grey text, hard to miss)
3) Click 'Characters'
4) Find your recently saved character name, and move your eyes over to the 'Edit' button. Click said 'Edit' button.
5) Click 'Apply Public Permission' Other people can now see your character sheet. Isn't that nice?

I didn't forget. I was unaware of the concept. It's done now, though.
What's the point of putting a character on RPG Web Profiler if it's not going to be publicly viewable?

you know, I'm trying to think of rebuttal, but I've got nothing. That is a good question.

Probably for people who can't keep track of a sheet of paper. I know a couple of people that always lose theirs...

I prefer text files if I'm just keeping a sheet on hand for personal use. It's a lot quicker than filling in the blanks on RPG Web Profiler, and makes it easier to include weird things like conditional bonuses.

I can see the benefits to this type of character sheet.
Think of it this way. If we were to each make a character sheet, even in a Text file, and sent it to him, he would have it. But then when we updated it, with ammo, loot, gold, or leveling up, we would either have to re-send it to him, or hed have to try to keep track himself to make sure everything was right.
This way, the character sheets are online, and any changes we make are instantly available to be viewed by him (or anyone else if we post them publicly on the boards). This makes it much simpler for us to say, level up, and not have to resend him the updated character sheet. I can definately see the benefits, when playing an online game.

Edit: Oh and btw, interesting character. Glad to have a healer onboard, and glad you decided to take Ability Enhancer. Yay +6 Stat bumping spells.

The question was, I believe, why someone would not have public permissions set, not why such sheets would be used in the first place.

Oh.. well yeah I guess. I think those sheets were originally made to be used with the gaming that goes on on those boards (Hence the spot to add in what game its in by ID number) So if it was logged as a character for game number 12345, then the GM for that game only would probably be able to see it. -shrugs-
