Frank also answers. "I would likewise like to know who just helped save our asses.

Above the Commuter Aircraft Crash Site Friday 4/11/70 16:14:03
A female voice sounds out over the commlinks: "This is Hahael piloting the helicopter above you. I can provide assistance to anyone who needs it." A slight pause. "In fact, I would highly recommend it; we have more visitors coming this way. Please bring as many survivors as you can onto the aircraft; if you need any medical assistance, I can provide it once we are away." The helicopter descends as the voice speaks, rotating to present an lowered ramp to the people currently outside of the crash site.
On the ship, Hahael makes preparations to launch her Rotodrones, if necessary. "Icarus, try to figure out what those incoming targets are," she said, hanging a bucket near the pilot's seat.

Sublime Lion goes quickly to check on the five bodies he saw earlier, to see if any of them are still alive.

Behind The Commuter Aircraft Crash Site Friday 4/11/70 16:14:08
Barking out commands to the helicopters sensory subsystem, Icarus demands a situational report from what he calls Private Radar. Sergeant Thermal Imager reports back in a robotic tone that there are four large heat sources, one possibly a flatbed truck and numerous smaller heat sources, metahuman in nature. A distant image appears on a view screen in the cockpit and then begins to magnifiy itself slowly until a convoy of vehicles kicking up dust comes into focus. He then proceeds to report to Alicia on their current situation,
"General Hahael, my subsystems predict that the convoy will arrive in two minutes and thirteen seconds. They appear to be scavangers, but my sensors can not provide further identification at this time. We currently have one hour thirteen minutes of remaining flight time in non-combat operations mode."

"Copy that, Icarus," she replies, "keep an eye on them, and give me any further updates as they come." She then sends a new message to the two who responded to her hails. "You have about two minutes to load anyone and anything you want or need onboard; whatever you leave behind you won't see again. If there is anyone who is in need of medical attention, let me know so that I can place the correct calls."

Seeing Sublime Lion attending to the copilot, Frank replaces his guns and carries the salaryman over to the helicopter. "We've got one who's unconscious and another one pinned. My friend's getting him now."

Phineus runs to check the bodies that are not already being checked by his companions. This proves a little difficult in his weakened condition, but he manages. He doesn't answer the helicopters call right away do to trying to concentrate on finding injured personnel, but he does answer and report any of his finding back to his aerial rescuer.

Crashed Aircraft Cabin Friday 4/11/70 16:15:50
Over the comm, the voice responds, "I've got wounded here, bringing them aboard." Just after this, Sublime Lion drags the injured aboard the helicraft, obviously strained from his efforts. He looks around. "Everyone aboard?" is heard over the comm line, before he collapses into a sitting position.

Ares Dragonhawk Helicopter "Icarus" Friday 4/11/70 16:16:45
A rolling cloud of black smoke from the rear section of the aircraft fills the sky a few hundred meters down the highway to the west. Out of this billowing smoke come a trio of vehicles, a wrecker, a flatbed semi-truck, and a large moving van. Atleast one individual is standing on side of the semi-truck, an assault rifle held in one hand and the open window frame with the other. As they speed towards the helicopter, Icarus kicks the Ares Dragon into gear. The whirling black blades spin up dust and debris along the highway, Phineus and the Sublime Lion manage to hoist the unconcious form of the co-pilot into the wide cargo area at the rear of the helicopter. They climb aboard, and Icarus feeling the passengers scrambling inside, immediately lifts off the ground and into the late afternoon Chicago sky as automatic rifle fire rakes the bottom of the helicopter. The bullets ping off of the reinforced armor harmlessly, sounding far worse than the actual damage caused. Icarus curses loudly at the scratched paint, but he does not waste the Vindicator ammunition on gutter trash and scavengers.
He quickly gains altitude, flying over the rooftops of the of nearby skyscrappers as he circles to await further instructions. A few minutes pass as he lazily circles the area, making sure that the roach spirits have retreated for the time being. The looters below are gathering up the corpses and throwing them onto the flatbed truck. Others are tearing away the scrap metal and luggage and loading it into the van. Smaller vehicles are driving circles around the crash site, and a blockade has been formed further to the west, likely an attempt to stop other groups from harassing them.
As he makes his second pass, following negotiations about the destination, there is a noticeable thud, as though something heavy hit the bottom of the aircraft. Icarus reports over the intercomm that there is an unknown individual on the outside of the helicopter. Moments later, Cowboy's face appears in the small circular window on the outside of the helicopter, knocking loudly so that he can get inside the aircraft. He is bleeding badly from cuts above his right eye, which is beginning to swell.
Icarus sets himself down on a nearby rooftop long enough to for Cowboy to scramble inside of the Dragon, where he promptly collapses from the effort. Rising into the air again, the question of where to go next is all that remains.

As Cowboy rolled into the helicopter he weakly staggered to his feet. "Jumping the chopper dislocated my shoulder...need someone to pop it back," he said gritting his teeth and making a terse gesture at his right shoulder. The helicopter lurched as it took off back into the air. Losing his balanced Cowboy grimaced in pain as he fell to a knee. "Goddamn bug spooks got me pretty good," he muttered through a half-smile. Blood was now flowing freely down his face from the gash on his forehead. His vision was starting to swim, blackness reaching in from the sides. "Hey Doc, think I'm gonna need some fixing s-...."

Normally helping carry the body of the co-pilot would not be as difficult as it is now. Though the doctor is small his strength is still about average for normal sized person. Unfortunately the side effects of the meal he had earlier are proving to be quite daunting. Having the life of this man relying on the speed with which the gnome moves his very small legs gives him the strength the get the co-pilot and himself to safety.
He takes a second or two, literally, to rest before his real work begins. When a battle is over and the runners are safely away, or as close as runners can get to safety, everyone can lay back take a deep breath and relax for a short time at least. Not the medic though, this is his time to go to work. he works hard on the field, of that there is no doubt, but after the battle is when he has to excel. He has to check to make sure everyone is not dying were they lay. He has to check for injuries that may not be life threatening now but will later. He has to repair all the injuries to the best of his abilities and make it so that the patient is as capable of performing his job as he was before the run, or at least as close to that state as the patient's body will allow. What is good for the medic after the battle is that he has time and fewer distractions, usually. This allows him to do nearly his best work, and this is precisely what Phineus begins to do. He sets off repairing the injuries his companions have sustained starting with Cowboy.

Though the danger is past, Frank still feels naked without his guns and armor. He walks to the front of the helicopter and and knocks to get the pilot's attention. "So, how long 'til you can get us to our intended destination?"
