Kenma glances at the paper and allows someone to direct his hand to where he needs to sign off on it, he then produces his scroll and hands it to another: "It would seem unwise for me to hold something I cannot read."

"I agree. Though I am curious, why don't you want to send just anyone to collect medical supplies?" Nakashima asks while waiting for Shinku finish signing.

After Nakashima signs the scroll, Genki waves the ink dry, rolls it back up, and sticks it into the scholar's satchel on his back. He also takes back the scroll that Shinku was holding as he ponders the question in front of him.
"Well, most of the herbs needed are on the very fringe of the grove. Inside, of course. Really, it's perfectly safe. But if just anyone were there at dusk... well, it shouldn't be a problem. Just... just be back before dusk. And even if you aren't, well, it's not like it's all that dangerous around here. But stick together.
The herbs and their descriptions are in that scroll right there that you have. I'll be in my office if you need anything, but it would probably be best if, once your finished, you took the stuff to Ritkichi-ojisan or one of his people. We wouldn't want to sow bad habits, ah ha ha ha, ah ha." Genki finds something about that immensely funny... you think. Your new boss is strange to figure out.
"Well, go on! That'll keep you busy for today at least... I'll figure something out for tommorow, maybe even make time for some kind of training. Just remember... don't leave the grove, or you'll have to wait till twilight to get back in." Genki turns, obviously finished with the three of you, and heads back into the Spire.

"Well, I guess we should get going and finish this up quick, then. Don't want to be caught out after dark, do we?" Shinku almost winks at his teammates, as if letting them in on a joke. As he starts to head to the described location, he pulls open the scroll he's holding and begins to go down the list of herbs, to see what the group needs.

"I wonder why we should be worried about being back by dark if it's perfectly safe?" By the sound of his voice he might have a smirk on his face, but if he does it can't be seen.

Kenma follows the others lead silently, seemingly lost in his own thoughts.

Shinku reads the scroll over as you three travel. No carts or other travel friendly objects are in sight, so you make your way through several residential areas into the deeper parts of the woods. Within about twenty minutes of quick jogging, you make it to the fringe of the grove, marked by an obvious gap between the trees; about five feet of open earth in an immense circle that surrounds the entire village.
(OOC: I'll need spot checks from Shinku and Nakashima, and a Sense Chakra roll from Kenma.)

Spot 15+5=20
On the way, I list off what plants we're looking for and what they look like.
Amami Flower (12 petals), Ayashii Weed (3 growths), Longstem Root (2 cuts), Patto Pea (4 pods), Teio Tomato (1)
The Amami Flower is a dropping blue flower with long petals about the size of someone's finger. The Ayashii Weed seems like a flower from a distance, all red and green, but when you get closer, the stem and the petals are actually rough. The Longstem Root grows from a Longstem Tree; tall, thin trees with little to no braches and wildly growing roots that grow up and down in the ground like a sea serpent. Patto Peas are a unique type of wild pea that grow in purple white pods on red green vines that are easy to spot, if uncommon. The Teio Tomato is a giant vegetable about as big as a watermelon. The odd thing about it is that it is an orange tomato, making it almost look like a pumpkin from the distance... but unlike pumpkin or tomato, it only has three seeds inside of it, and a fully ripe Teio's stem will turn an almost sickly shade of white. Supposedly, the Teio even gives off a mild chakra signature

Shinku and Nakashima both see, ten meters east, several red flowers that might be the Ayashii Weed. Dotting the landscape all around are several blue flowers that match the Amami's description.
Kenma feel a faint aura of chakra to the west (Sense Chakra: 18+4 = 22), and it seems fuzzy and compact, not at all like any human chakra you've felt before. Kenma also feels several more of the same types of chakra to the south, outside the grove.
(OOC: Search, Spot, Listen, and Sense Chakra if you got 'em. Sense Chakra is just a wisdom check, unless otherwise stated. I will add bonus modifiers myself if they apply and I don't tell you to add them before hand.)

I'm going around, gathering the Ayashii Weed, while looking to find some Patto Peas, gathering extra of either, if I can find them.

Kenma goes to investigate the source of chakra to the west, informing the others before he goes.

(Apparently 15 is the lucky number today)

Nakashima begins to gather several Amami Flowers, and watches Kenma run to the west. Shinku has he back turned, as he follows the scroll's instructions for gathering Ayashii Weed, so only Nakashima really sees the blind Kenma pick his left foot up awkwardly, dance around, arms flailing, and, finally, futilely, falling flat on his face. Right onto the Teio he was about to get.
Tomato juices dripping down his face, Kenma feels the long, half circle root that his left shin barely missed knocking into, but his right managed to hook completely. Though he's messy, his hands are scraped and he's probably embarrassed, Kenma isn't hurt. Upon feeling around, Kenma discovers that the root has a brother to the left and to the right, all the same half circle. Working on a whim, the blind boy picks a direction and literally stumbles into the thin tree that the root that he tripped on comes from. There are several other roots coming out of the base, all dipping in and out of the earth in an almost perfect wave pattern.
Kenma feels the squashed Teio's fuzzy chakra dissipate, and can't find any more close by, except for the few he feels to the south.
((OOC: None of you hear anything out of the ordinary. Spot, Search, Listen, and Sense Chakra again.))

(I truly do not recall saying run or would think that any person who was blind would go running around like that, but you're the boss.)
He wipes himself off and shrugs, completely unperturbed by it, and goes back to work collecting what he can of what is needed.
Search 9 + 10 = 19 Sense Chakra 10 + 4 = 14 Listen 3 + 13 = 16
