"That's the one," Said Balka in Ignan again. "The one that might be helpful." He looked at Balkoth as he said this, without any bad inflections in his tone.

Speaking to Balkoth in Draconic, "Me? Oh, I'm not much of anyone - I move around and tell stories to people that want to hear them. Now isn't really the time for that, of course. As for Nilen (pron. Knee-len [as in lent]), he's been my constant companion for quite a long time. We're really quite close. What about you?"

Mal walking by, listened to them speaking, by trade he was silent, so he didn`t feel that he needed to jump in. However, someone needed to watch out for any ambushes. He sighed, keeping his eyes watching for anything, his muscles honed to a deadly snap in case anything would attack. He wished however, all this speaking in thrice cursed Ss`ressen wouldn`t give him a headache. Mal however started looking at the Gondsman. "Interesting, it looks very similar to something our own Artificers make." Walking behind it, he kept the gun in hand, but continued to inspect the machine.

Balka turned around at the feeling of curiosity coming from his construct. He noticed The gunman Mal inspecting his creation, and decided to try talking to him. "Hey, can you understand me?" He began cycling through all the languages he knew to see if he could connect with him in some way.

Mal, hearing gibberish, eyed the man curiously, "I cannot understand you friend, perhaps someone else could speak for me?" He said, speaking in Ss`ressen. "This is quite an interesting machine you have, one such as yourself must be a fine Artificer."

"Uh...I don't know what you said, but I'll take it by your tone that I should thanking you...I think?" Balka thought for a moment, and began to draw pictures in the dirt. It was a crude face, with an arrow pointing to the makeshift ear. "Do you get it?"

After waiting for Balkoth to pass him and move to a length of a little over five feet but under ten, Steelfire draws the sword from his back. His robes vanish instantly revealing a spiked body and his eyes flare red, the fires on his hands seem to be crackling with menace. Without waiting, he begins speaking Eberron common more to himself than anyone else. He mutters: "I am the fire which burns away the impurities of the world leaving only the blessed steel of our race." and during that prayer/litany-esque muttering he takes a swing directly at Balkoth with Terminus.
Summary: I pulled my Greatsword and took a swing at Balkoth. Attack roll 19 (critical threaten), confirm roll 12 + 19 = 31. Damage vs. Humans is 5d6 + 13 and the crit modifier is x2 (not yet factored in under the damage part listed {which would, I believe, put it at 10d6 + 26 damage}). Reach of 10 feet. Slashing type damage. Oh, and I'd imagine I have at least a surprise round on your NPC Nick, because he said he'd expected more violence and seemed relaxed by the lack thereof.
[OOC]Note: If you want to stop me Nick, post and come up with some good and creative way to do so, otherwise, Nate has just officially told me: "The light is green" (which means it's go-time, for anyone who doesn't get it, an allusion towards being ready and willing to fight). [/OOC]

Seeing the blur of motion from the falling sword, his reflexes kicked in, and the gun in his hand flew up, and Mal fired without thought. Both barrels in his pistol boomed, aimed at the large warforged. [ooc](Using both barrels on one shot incurs a -2 penalty to my roll, 14+15=29: 20 damage for the first bullet, 3d4+5+1d6 21 on the second shot as well.)[ooc] Quickly and again without thought, he sheathes the now useless pistol, grabbing his other double barreled and one of his breech-loading ones. Taking a step back in muscle memory to re-assess the situation, Mal hoped his reflexes hadn`t got him into more trouble than he was worth. [ooc](Same with me, this is what`d I do as a twitchy individual unless Nick stops it, I daresay fire reflexively would work in this way, and man, Its nothin` against your character, its more mine has been preparing for something to swing around him this entire time, )[ooc]

((OOC: Kuroana runs in and steals the sword from the Warforged in mid-swing... wait, wait... wrong game, sorry.))
Gileard whips out the axe that he already had a grip on and jumping back momentarily, running straight over to Mal Abbebi after the human fired his strange weapon things. He places himself in between the Mal and the large metal creature with the spiked body, Gileard's own pony sized body still low enough for Mal to use his weapons without difficulty.
"Why attack when he is potentially surrounded? Stupid thing."* Gileard prepares himself for the charge by pulling loose his thrice spiked shield from it's catch on the left side of his body. Axe in right and shield in left, Gileard bores a hole into his target with his eyes, and searches for a proper place of attack.
"Come, Mal Abbebi, thou and I shall show it it's mistake!"*
(OOC: Drew my axe and shield, moved in between Mal and Steelfire, in the 'square' right in front of Mal. Preparing to attack on the next turn. Dodge declared on Steelfire.
*spoken in Sylvan)

[ooc] Thank you much nate, I didnt want things getting ahead of me. So to clear up a few things... 1) Daniel (Lord Nutari) Did not get his automatic shot. His fire reflexively ability only works against things that declare an attack against him directly. While it makes sense he would be twitchy and attack, for game balance it doesnt work that way. 2) Technically you are right james that you would have a surprise round, you all were so anxious for a fight that you didnt bother waiting to find out what the room looked like, where he went once he entered, or what was going on. You all just walked around and initiated combat. So I get to have a trick up my sleeve. [/ooc]
Having stepped into the doorway, and off to the right, to better facilitate motioning people into the room towards their chairs, Mister Mask watches as Steelfire walks in and stops, having heard what the mage Balkoth had said. Preparing himself for the worst he tenses his muscles. Predictably Steelfire lets the insolent human pass by and then pulls his sword. With one deft step he has interposed himself between Steelfire and his target, just as the blade begins bearing down. Lifting up his right arm into the path of the sword his eyes flash, as the sword hits his arm, cutting through his jacket and stopping suddenly, the force of the blow buckling his arm. At the same moment his other hand comes around, smashing up with his palm near the hilt of the blade, using the momentum of his opponents swing, and his own forearm as a fulcrum point, to attempt to disarm steelfire of his weapon. [ooc] Ok, allowing you your 19 original to hit +19=38+4(2 handed) +4 (Large)=46. I got a 18+20(10Dex+10bab+4(something you dont know about)-4Light weapon+20 True Strike=58 [/ooc]. With a twist the sword comes up and out of Steelfires hands, wrenched from his grip, and goes over Mister Masks head. With a deft twist by Mask, the sword blade goes down and stabs into the ground directly behind him, standing itself straight up in the air.
His eyes flashing in anger, he leans back casually against the quivering sword. "There will be no fighting amongst yourselves while you are in this place. You have accepted my invitation and I expect you to act Cordially..Yes even you Steelfire, Prince of Blades. Perhaps especially you. If you don't I will personally dismantle you piece by piece and ship you back to the Lord of Blades for possible reconstruction and an attitude adjustment." [17+29=46 Intimidate check, which I don't think you can beat, so consider yourself cowed.]
Spinning around the sword blade, he walks off towards a circle of chairs around a rather large table. The table itself seems odd, as the frame is made of wood. The tabletop however has an outer ring of wood about 6 inches wide and the rest of the table seems to be pure Obsidian. Stepping to a plain chair at the far end of the room, he motions for everyone to sit, the chairs in the room obviously being enough to seat everyone, with a specially large one for Steelfire, and some pads in one spot incase the centaur cares to kneel rather than stand. "Please, be seated and we can get started."
[ooc] Ok so thats that. I just didnt want people getting too far ahead before i was able to post that like i had planned. As for Mal shooting, it didnt happen, and he merely pulled a second pistol and sighted over Gideans back when he moved into place. Resume posting! Oh and im prolly going to bed so yeah.[/ooc]

Mal blinked, he had not expected the spry man in a mask to so expertly wrench the greatsword out of that titans grip. Feeling safer, he holstered his pistols and spoke to Gileard, "No, I don`t think this time we shall, but we must take care to remember that he will strike against us." He spoke to the centaur in Elorin, and took a seat in the chair closest to the exit.

Selterha nods to himself and then addresses Mr. Mask in Draconic, "If you insist." With that, he seats himself and motions for his canine companion to lay behind his seat.

Putting his shield away, but holding onto his axe in a slightly less threatening way, Gileard nods, and takes a seat next to Mal. Well, not so much a seat as moving the chair out of the way and laying down in such a way that his human body still stands up, but his horse half is much more relaxed.
The axe he props hilt side up in front of himself so that he may lean on it, and still have a hold of it. His eyes are focused upon Steelfire, watching carefully.
