Looking back at Gileard, Mal pauses, "I greet you in return Gileard, but, I am afraid I have never heard of any Krynn, is it perhaps beyond the Sea of Lanterns?" He inquired as well as his tongue could climb around Elorin. His hand still resting on a pistol, he moved closer to the curious creature. "If I might ask, what sort of being are you Gileard? I have never seen anything like you before."

Gileard reaches behind himself and pulls out a scroll case. Conversationally, he explains his race. "I am of the Wendel Centaurs, a breed of strong and hearty centaurs that revel in our knowledge of Ansalon History... I am, of course, the exception to that rule... I find fighting more enjoyable than talking of dead things. And I do enjoy doing this..."
Unraveling the parchment inside the scroll case reveals a roughly drawn map that is labeled 'Krynn'. "I make maps. And this... this Mal Abbebi, is Krynn. Thou hast surely seen thy homeland on a large map such as this? What puzzles me... is I do not recognize where we are now..."

Mal thinks back to what he saw before he was here, "Well, In my opinion, we are no longer where we were, of course, perhaps even tossed through Cadic's dark lands where the shadows lie." He nods paying utmost attention to Gileard. "I have seen a map of my lands yes, but your map is completely foreign, Gileard, but excuse me, I`m going to scout ahead." Looking at the rest of the group, Mal starts to hike up the crater, going to get to the rim of it so he can see the land beyond. He unsheathed both of his pistols as he walked up, in case he met anything unfriendly up there.

The sorcerer watched the half horse and gunsman talk with a look of annoyed confusion. With a shake of his head, he headed to leave the crater. Deimos desired to return to Waterdeep, so that he could continue the research he was working on. There was much to be gained from that research and the mage hoped that it wasn't lost in whatever brought him here. Where ever 'here' was. "Shall we get moving? I'd like to leave this place, and figure out where we are."

Looking around and smelling the air, Gileard sighs.
"I think thou are right. Be careful scouting. Shout if thou need help. I am able to travel quite quickly when needed."
Gileard is about to roll up the map, but stops. He turns it outward so that the details face the others, and the look on his face is questioning, even hopeful.
They probably will not be able to read it if they can not speak Common, but perhaps ONE of them knows what Krynn is... and if not, they shall get the idea that we are from a different place, if they have not figured it out already. Gileard thinks to himself as the others have a chance to examine his map before he rolls it up and carefully replaces it inside it's scoll case.

The half-elf looks at the large metal 'man' for a moment, and then, {in Draconic}"My name is Selterha, for your information. And by what you have said, I have my doubts that any gnome had a part in your construction. What type of person, then, is this creator of yours?" And before any response can be formed, he turns to the gun toting man, "It probably is wise for us to find out where we are, yes. We'll wait here while you scout, then?" He thens turns towards Steelfire expectantly. As though he just realized it was there, his hand drops to the head of his obedient dog and begins to stroke it, never dropping his gaze from the juggernaut.

As Mal walks away from the party, scanning the area around him, working his way steadily up the incline that leads to the top, musing to himself about scouting, he suddenly feels a slight itch between his collarbones, almost as if someone is watching him..almost a sense of warning. Before he can really do anything about it, his instincts cut in, and he stops suddenly, one leg in mid-step, the other seems to be balanced precariously in the middle of his foot on a sharp corner of some sort. Holding one arm out to his side he swings it slightly backwards, shifting just enough of his weight to drop him back onto his heel, where he then plants his other foot firmly a step back, and moves away from the spot he was at.
The rest of you see this happen and have no real idea why he did what he did...or how the front half of his foot seemed to go underground for a moment..

Looking up and down, Mal smiled, and walked back to the group. In langauges so everyone could understand him, he said then re-stated this. "Well, It seems we are on a tower, that tower in is a crater, and the lips of both edges meet up perfectly in an optical illusion, we are 40 feet up about, and the crater itself is about 80 feet deep." He shrugged, "I think we should get down, and keep exploring, but thats just me."

Deimos walked up carefully, the warning in mind. He looked down. A tower 40 feet up in a 80 foot deep crater with an edge that almost perfectly blends in with the ground unless you're looking... Somebody's out for my head. Or one of the mongrels'. The mage yelled back in Draconic, as it seemed to be the only common language between everyone. "It's a 40 foot drop right here. Doesn't look like it from back there, but it's here. Try not to hurt yourselves on the way down."
With that, the mage took a step back and carefully hoped off the edge. He rolled with the collision with the ground, shrugging off most of the pain. (Jump 18, tumble 21) Deimos stood up and walked about 5 feet way from the tower, brushing off the dirt once more from his robes. He grumbled to himself as he walked. "I knew I should've learned feather fall. But no, I had to be able to repair that damned golem. Worthless walking rock."

Mal walked back up to the edge, and steps off, drifting like a feather to the bottom, keeping his pistols ready just in case. When he lands, he steps next to the mage, and scans the area. In Ss`ressen he speaks with the mage, "Are you alright for one? I think it was, Lord Deimos?"
GM EDIT: As a note when he says he speaks in Ss'ressen, it equates to Draconic for everyone else. Max you took 9 damage from the fall.

"Heights. Why must it have been heights?" Gilearn mumbles in Ogre, a most fitting tongue for grumbling.
Backing up a good twenty paces or so, Gileard gallops by everyone else and jumps straight out, towards the other side of the crater. He almost seems to be flying, but really he's just tucked in his legs momentarily to lessen the wind resistance, and brings them back out again in a clear attempt at landing.
[Long Jump attempt: 20+28 = 48]
((OOC: Ummm... holy friggin cow. I was expecting a little help from my +24 to jumps for my 90 speed {which, btw, I'm still giggling like a little girl about (no offense meant Nick, I'm sure you giggle quite prettily)}, but to roll a 20 on the skill check? And someone else can check the physics of it, but an 80 ft deep crater (which I've been led to believe is perfectly round, right?) should have an opposite lip for me to land upon at oh, about 50 or 60 feet away. Up to Mr. Giggles to figure it out or tell me if I'm wrong and need to make a tumble check too...))

Balka's jaw went slack. He had stayed out of the conversation so far, and was seemingly ignored in turn, but as he watched the most amazingly made construct, the mage from waterdeep, and the others who's names he had lost to the shock of everything that was going on, he looked back at Bowen, his construct, and thought, "What did we get ourselves into buddy?". He stepped up, and looked down the slope. "Excuse me, Waterdeep mage? I'm afraid I forgot your name, please excuse me...Can you make heads or tails of what it is we're doing exactly?" He looked at the others in his party, and decided that the mage from a place he had heard of was probably the best bet.

Finally, thought Balkoth to himself, we might get something useful accomplished. The human in dark blue robes calmly moves forward, walking with complete confidence. First, he looks in the direction of where the mage, the human with the firearms, and the centaur had gone. I need to learn more about this Deimos Ashton and why he thinks has the title of lord. Hopefully though, a lesser mage will prove useful. As for the human, I have seen these instruments which he wields as weapons. Though firearms have there uses, they are by far inferior to magic. The centaur is interesting. I have never seen or heard of a type such as his. I hope he can be of some use if this…group is forced to travel together. His gaze then turns to the one that calls itself Steelfire. Balkoth looks at it not like a large intimidating death machine, but like it is just an inferior person. The idea of a sentient golem is an interesting one, but the future? I highly doubt it. Though it will be very annoying if it keeps acting as if it were something important, it might be nice to have a golem in the group. The half-elf looks as if there is more to him. I will have to keep an eye on him and his hound. The last man over there seems to control that construct. Maybe he can control Steelfire. At least there are plenty of front line fighters. Maybe they will stay alive long enough for me to get back. “My name is Balkoth. We should head out. The sooner we find out where we are, the sooner we can find out how to return home.” says Balkoth with an incredibly commanding voice. Still unsure how he got here or even what that orb in the middle of the battle was, Balkoth waits for the reactions of those still present. The one arm that looks normal is resting comfortably on a cane and the arm that is metal hangs unmoving to his side. “Well?”
[ooc]This is all in draconic. Sorry about the late post. Too much to do and not nearly enough time to it.[ooc]

Steelfire, satisfied with the identifications of all present individuals, first addresses Selterha, "My creator is a divine being. The God of Warforged, whether they accept him or not, He is known as The Lord of Blades. As for what type of person he is..." for a moment Steelfire appears to be in a state of envious rapture and admiration, "...he is a champion who destroys the weak, who scours the world of Eberron of fleshlings like parasites from an animal." He finishes with a general sweep of his arm, motioning towards the dog beside the half-elf.
With that said, Steelfire turns and takes notice of Balkoth, and glances at the metallic arm. A loud chuckle filled with contempt, scorn and even a sort of condescending mannerism rings out as Steelfire takes notice of it. "Behold him, the fleshling who would be machine. I've seen kind similar to you on my own world. Truly, little changes across the universe! Keep trying, maybe one day you'll have achieved a true metamorphosis from fleshling to metallic grandeur." Steelfire's voice is that of a professional patting a child on the head. While friendly and encouraging, the underlying condescending nature and barely veiled pity can be clearly felt.
With a quick glance towards the unnamed one who had stayed out of the conversation yet was now following Deimos, Steelfire called out: "Indeed you must be a Lord of some sorts after all Deimos! Already a follower is quickly fawning to your side! He forgets your name, fails to state his own, then asks you to direct him! Human sycophants are an eyesore even to my unwavering metal sight."
The towering adamantine Warforged turns and walks toward the edge in which others have gathered. With one powerful hand he reaches down and grasps at the tower upon which he stands. Seeking to test the sturdiness and resillience of its substance. If it appears strong enough, he begins to climb down quickly, digging his hands and armor spikes (which are hard, if not impossible, to distinguish from his robe due to the glamer of his armor the way it appear without spikes.) into it, using them as holds and balances (being familiar with his own weight enough to know how to climb well despite it), as he lowers himself to ground level somewhat near where the others have descended. (17 + 13 = 30 climb roll).
[OOC]Draconic is currently Steelfire's language of choice, however, the moment someone addresses him in another tongue he speaks, he will instantly switch to it. When issueing commands he repeats the statement in every language to ensure the most possible understanding.[/OOC]

Selterha nods in understanding as Steelfire speaks. Once he sees that yet another person has begun the descent, he moves to the side. "No time like the present for a cliff, then." He motions his dog over to him and points down the side. "We're going down, now, boy." The dog walks over the edge and begins to walk face-first down the wall, finding holds with an almost instinctual ease for his claws, which, now that attention has been brought to them, are designed more like avian talons than the claws of a dog. The elfin man lowers himself down next to the dog and holds on tightly, as the animal helps him to climb down the wall.
[dog gets a climb of 9+19=28, I get a 20+4=24]
