Freohr's attacks finally pay off, he bites down but the quasit's tough hide prevents the blow from being very effective. Taking a quick step back, Beric drops his bow and lunges back at the quasit. She tries to claw at him as he gets close, but her clumsy attempt fails. Beric successfully grabs hold of the small creature. Cale, still recovering, moves around the fountain, and finally works off the nausea. Lorania follows the quasit and stabs, but her attack misses Those that are close to the quasit easily notice the puncture wound from the rapier vanish as her wounds continue to heal. "Infidels! You will suffer!" She struggles to escape Beric's grasp, but has no success. Beric takes no damage from the poison this round. [ooc] Freohr does not understand human speech, and therefore does not know to try and pin the creature. He will most likely try to aid the grapple this round (If you want to roll it yourself Cadic's, it is an Aid Another, roll CMB against DC 10). The quasit failed to break the grapple, Beric can continue the grapple and gets the +5 circumstance bonus as normal. [/ooc] | Initiative: Malik Beric Cale Lorania Enemies |

Beric's hands move to the creature's thin neck, his long fingers digging into the demonic flesh as he drives it forcefully down towards the ground, holding it with outstretched arms beneath him so that it can't move. His muscles bulge with the strain from the flailing of the tiny beast, but he glares at it with an equal look of disgust.

Cale shakes his head vigorously and spits once, clearing the nausea finally and then charges the Quasit with renewed fury.

Lorania takes advantage of the quasit's moment of weakness and attempts to end the struggle. (20+2= 22 sneak attack, 12+2= 14 confirmation, 4+1+2= 7 damage)

Freohr's wolf-pack instincts kick in as he assists in taking down the group's enemy. Beric manages to pin the struggling, screaming quasit. Cale moves up and brings his bastard sword to bear on the captive quasit Lorania, too, stabs at the quasit, her blow landing with great effect. Critical Hit! The attack leaves the quasit reeling from the blow, her defenses are particularly vulnerable while she recovers. The quasit screams in anguish, seemingly from both the attacks as well as her current predicament. Suddenly though, she disappears from view. Beric manages to narrowly fight off the poison. [ooc] Beric can still feel the quasit in his grasp, he simply cannot see her. Freohr can also tell that the quasit is still there because of his scent ability, although he will still have a 50% miss chance if he attempts to attack. If Cale can get a good idea of where the Quasit is, he'll attack again, otherwise he holds back to avoid hitting an ally.
Attack 13+5 = 18 Damage 1+4 = 5

He shouts out to the others, "Wait until you can see her!"
Then, with both Freohr and himself pinning the Quasit against the ground, he attempts to drag the creature over to the pool of water, submersing it for all to see the invisibile creature's writhing form.

Freohr growls and snaps at the air, but does not seem to make contact with anything. Beric struggling at the air, arms grasping at the invisible creature, moves roughly across the ground to the fountain. He plunges into the water and the rest of you can suddenly see what he is holding onto. Within the water, a roughly humanoid "bubble" moves within Beric's grasp. Cale, seeing something to swing at, attacks but his attempt comes up short as he misjudges the distance through the water and because of the strange mode of detection. Lorania also stabs at the quasit, her rapier seeming to puncture the strange area of displaced water. However, the amount of blood that spreads into the water leads you to believe it was not a very successful strike. The quasit's scream is heavily distorted by the water and you all see the strange form struggle against Beric, but stays approximately still. [ooc] The move from the ground into the water, while successful, has caused you to lose your effective pin. If you wish to try and pin her again, you will need to make another successful grapple check. You are also no longer benefiting from flanking. Freohr in this next round successfully bites at the quasit, he doesn't seem to deal any damage, but his trip ability will give you the +2 to the grapple check appropriate for a successful "Aid Another" action.[/ooc] | Initiative: Malik Beric Cale Lorania Enemies |

Beric smashes the Quasit's head against the side of the pool, using his leverage to keep it from squirming too much as the others move to finish it off.

Freohr bites down on the struggling figure within the water. There doesn't appear to be much damage, however. Beric pushes down and holds the struggling, invisible quasit in the pool. Cale steps to the side, hoping to have an advantage against the quasit. He strikes with his sword, and it connects with a good hit, the blood spilling into the water. Lorania strikes again, but doesn't appear to make contact. Her attack must have narrowly missed, due to the concealing nature of the water. Suddenly, with the quasit's scream, she appears. But the relief that you will be able to attack without trouble is short lived as unnatural waves of fear assault you. Freohr, a bit shaken up by the fear, tries to bite at the quasit now that she is visible again, but misses. Beric, Cale, and Lorania, suddenly struck with an irrational fear of the quasit try to get as far away from her as possible. Beric runs out of the room and into the darkness outside. Cale and Lorania however, not wanting to get even close enough to get out the door, move further into the room. They both run parallel and meet at the back near the strange freezing pool. The quasit recovers, moving out of the water. [ooc] The three of you are still frightened for one more round, I'm still working on what's going to be happening. The good news is that technically speaking you have a choice of what you do while frightened, you aren't at the level of complete, irrational fear. So if one of you would like to do something else, you can pose options. Simply know that you must get away from the source of your fear (the quasit) using the best means you have. I'll post again sometime tonight or tomorrow with the next round's results so that you can get back to your own actions.[/ooc] | Initiative: Malik Beric Cale Lorania Enemies |

The quasit recovers from the water then begins chanting, but Freohr snaps at her and she seems to lose her concentration. Freohr tries to bite again but makes no contact. And with that, the quasit disappears again.
Almost as suddenly as it came, the sudden fear that gripped you fades away. You shake off the irrational emotion and the quasit is nowhere in sight.
[ooc] You were all able to see her failed attempt at casting a spell. Beric did not see her disappear as he was stumbling down the dark hallway at the time. Go ahead and post actions based on your given locations in the map from the previous post, but the quasit is not visible. [/ooc]

Beric von Chultiz makes his way as quickly as possible back into the room containing his allies, assuming that he can see the light around the bend in the tunnel.
Not seeing the quasit, he turns to his companions and shouts, "She'll be back and fully healed before long. We should get Malik and return to Sandpoint before she does."
Post was made under two assumption, first, did two rounds pass? I assume, she feared us at the end of one round, failed her spell-cast on the next round, and then turned invisible successfully at the end of the third round? Also, is she still dripping water and blood, wherever she happens to be? Can I change my post if any of the above would make what I posted not logical?

Cale fights till he's dead, looking for water tracks from where the Quasit came out, should be easy to spot since it is completely soaked; it should be leaving an abundantly clear trail of water and blood. If that takes an active search I'll be damned (only reasoning I'd accept is the nearby pool area being soaked from its thrashings and the grappling splashing; and even then, that'd only account for maybe 5 or 10 feet nearby, it'd still trail water if it went farther than that)
Otherwise, yeah, I fight til I'm dead. If I try to escape, it'll harry us to death and I can't carry Malik and defend us. Also, we've been fighting this thing since March and I just can't will myself to give a crap anymore since it just got, what... 3 rounds of its fast healing to counteract most of any of the damage we've done so far? I'm amazed Nick has stuck in it this long because he hasn't had anything to do for ages and I think it's a major shortcoming on the DM's front to let it go this long with him in that condition; you're practically asking him to quit.
Obviously if we stay here it'll wear us down because we can't output enough damage to kill it and most of us are near dead, or at the very least, I know I am. We can try running from it, but that'd make no sense and again, carrying Malik would be unlikely and Cale would never abandon him anyway. We can try staying but we've lost our grapple on it and it's back to being invis and able to heal up its strength once more meaning we'll face several more rounds of getting clawed at just to bring it back to where it was... which, even pulling your punches as a DM, we're still not gonna be able to endure it for as long as it'll likely take... and that'd be what... another 4 pages and two months of combat?
Long story short: Either: -it runs away while invis and we can't track it, a nemesis/foe for later (which I honestly am guessing the plot is supposed to be anyway?) Or: -it kills those of us who don't post saying they flee because we're obviously not gonna be able to kill it without pulling some major crits down at this point or some seriously lucky grapples/attacks again cuz that bite attack + claws will definitely take us down before we get it otherwise. As is, it should've been biting in grapples since it's natural weaponry, right? Cale will happily stand his ground at the door to buy anyone who wants to escape or try to escape with Malik in tow the time he can give them. He won't run away from a foe like this though.
Either way, I'm tired of this combat that's dragged on this long and you basically just hit the 'reset' button on us for the Quasit's HP. End it, one way or another DM, you gotta end this. Now. C'mon, it's dragging on way too long and killing any interest I have left in the game... I don't think Lorania's stopped posting by accident and I'm guessing Nick isn't really concerned about a game where's been unconscious for at least two months. Ball's in your court sir.
