Ok, so as I've already told almost everyone that is going to be playing... In fact I do believe I've actually told everyone, I'll go ahead and post up what the actual game is.
This is a game based in a new world, or it seems new anyway. It will be a hodgepodge of bits and pieces of various campaign settings. I will have a map for you all to go by, although you of course will not have access to a full map until someone actually maps the place and you purchase one.
For those of you that just HAVE to know a bit more about the setting, such as factions, I will post a bit of knowledge that will become readily available rather quickly.
1) Faerun, Khorvaire, Ansalon, Arcanis(Mostly from Althere), and Grayhawk(Mostly Verbobonc) are the most common locales that seem to have appeared in this strange new world. From what little is known, very few places from outside these areas have appeared, or at least been discovered.
2) The most prominent cities that have appeared include: WaterDeep, Baldurs Gate, Solanthus, Wroat, New Althere(I think thats the right name), and Grayhawk City. Rumors abound as to whether the sightings of a destroyed Sharn are true, but many claim to have seen one or two of what could only be the Towers of Sharn standing on an Island to the south.
3) Places of interest: Tower of High Sorcery, Mithral Hall, and the Temple of Elemental Evil to name but a few.
4) The moons of this world (Which you discover your first night) seem odd. To anyone from Khorvaire it is downright scary. In the night sky are 4 moons (Yes dave, they are whole). One white, one red, one black, and one blue. What is odd about them is that they seem to follow one another in a line across the sky, waxing, waning, full and new in unison with one another. They go in this order: Blue, white, red, black. So, in this manner, the blue is the first in the sky, but the black is the last to fall before the sun takes over.
5) Areas of Dead and Wild Magic have appeared in areas where there once was none. Magic defenses in some areas have fallen, where in others they have gone erratic, while still others are just fine. Rumors abound of areas that even enhance magical effects that are cast in them.
6) Prominent organizations include: The Lords of Waterdeep, along with the Mage towers therein. The Wizards of the Tower of High Sorcery. The Circle of Knights of Solamnia in Solanthus. A large contingent of the Military might of Althere (Probably the largest standing army that was brought). A contingent of Warforged loyal to the Lord of Blades (Rumors abound as to whether the Lord of Blades himself is here or not), as well as a contingent of Warforged loyal to some sort of Machine God. These two factions are apparently warring in the portion of the Mournlands that are here. Rumors abound as to an organization of hired mercenaries known only as the Blind Tower. Other factions very well may exist but have yet to make themselves known openly, or at least to a majority of people.
Anything else you may wish to ask, feel free. I give you this information because its all stuff that you will get VERY early in the campaign. I do ask that you don't use said information until you do get it in character though, but you may keep it in mind for when you design your characters (Such as the fact that if you wanted to be a Knight of Solamnia you would actually have a circle of Knights to go to to get advanced in rank. Things like that.)
So, as we decided, level 9 characters it is. Other things to note about character creation (Just to consolidate)
Stats: Use our standard rolling method (4d6, reroll ones, drop lowest. Roll 7 stats. Roll 2 blocks of stats). If you do not get an 18, bump your highest roll to an 18 in each block. If you happen to roll 2 18s... well good for you!
Alignment: Any you wish to be. You may wish to coordinate amongst yourselves to keep to a happy medium, but it isn't required. I'll find a place for everyone, and It will be a place in the party (Although it would be nice if i wasnt CONSTANTLY having to find a reason your character was with the party. AKA PLEASE try not to do things like LG Paladin and CE Assassin...its hard to keep the party together without one or the other always attempting to kill the other).
Campaign setting: Ok so here is where things get interesting. You may pull your character from any of the following campaign settings:
Faerun
Eberron
Dragon Lance
GrayHawk
Arcanis
You may pull from any of those 5 worlds for your characters. Anything from Race and class through Feats and Skills, all the way down to equipment and origin. Each character at character creation will choose 1, and only 1, campaign setting from which to pull. After character creation as you go up levels, options from other campaign settings will become available to you (Keep this in mind! It could get very interesting to mix classes from various Campaign settings! Or at least Feats and things.)
Character Customization: If you have something about your class, race, etc etc that you would like to change, or if you have an original idea you would like considered just let me know and i'll do what I can to let you all customize your characters the most I can without unbalancing the game.
Gold: Take standard 9th level gold. 36,000GP. Also I will be assigning each person a relatively randomized magic item of a certain value, so get with me if I havent for you yet (Please have at least a character Idea before you do this).
Every character gets one free Regional or Background feat for free (Or something of the kind. I think all of the campaign settings have either Regional or Background feats, but if one doesnt and its yours let me know and i'll come up with a list of feats for you to choose from.)
You will be starting halfway through level 9 in XP so keep that in mind if you want to create magic items (Although also keep in mind that it would put you behind everyone in XP.)
Anyway, thats all for now. Post characters in the Character area as you get them done, or get with me if you have a question. You all know how to get ahold of me on AIM.
Good Luck, and Enjoy
