Sitting, Dakavar racked his brain for information about the man, studying each feature of his with a glance that seemed to be made almost of steel it was so intense. (18+18=36 Knowledge Local) He rested his hands, his eyes taking a far away look, as if he was meditating. But on any further study, one could tell his mind was very focused on this place as well, it seemed he was fragmenting his mind to focus on some things easier. His crystal floated over to Sochur and back to him in a fast loop. "So, Mr. Bleak, what can our partnership do for you?" he asked in a slow, almost bored monotone voice.

His gaze being immediately drawn to the figure that appeared, several choice curse words go rolling through his mind. "Just my luck... first this guy and now an ethereal... I swear Cadic must be laughing his ass off at me..." Feeling rather shaken at the appearance of this creature, he steels his will and shakes it off. (Will save 24...hit it EXACTLY.. Nate witnessed this roll.). Feeling slightly relieved when the creature once again disappears, he waits for Rethnoctis to release him.

Will Save 17+9=26 - made it
"Yes, of course. As the great ones wish." Reth'noctis fades down into the street, while looking at the man he had cornered. "No ill deeds have yet been performed, and I shall not hold this against you, should we meet again." With that, the man obeying the will of the etheral disappears into the ground.

Isaac usually considered himself to be lucky. However, he knew that some days were not meant to be good ones. When he saw both an Ethereal and an Inquisitor in the same hour, let alone day, he knew it was going to be one of those days.
Watching the freakish Inquisitor phase through the ground, Isaac backed up more. "Holy shit." After a minute, the mercenary pulled out a cigarette and lit it. The nicotine helped calm his nerves some. "Note to self - no gambling today. I'm testing my luck enough as is..." With that, he walked away from the scene, knowing that sticking around wasn't going to be a good idea.

For Dakavar and Sochur: Dakavar, you recognize the man as General Alexander Homam. You've come to the conclusion he likely uses the name "Bleak" to avoid being caught easily or to degrade his importance when caught until he can escape or be let go. He nods at both of you slowly: "Yes, I know of you. Your partnership can aid me by killing that traitor princess. Adashara is set to be an Ethereal. I don't know why, but I don't even wish that fate on my enemies. Something happens to people who become Ethereal. It seems to unhinge most of them or turn them into twisted schemers..." He trails off as though incredibly agitated. "Still, it'll do the children of Asharis good to see one less Ethereal, and to not see the Princess so willingly join them. Your mission is simple, I want you to kill the princess. I fear she's already been tainted by that bastard godling Kais." He seems especially angered by the name and rubs unconsciously at a spot on his chest and grumbles something unintelligible. "In return for this service, I'll give you fair compensation. Ten-thousand gold pieces after and ten-thousand before... each. I'll say this much, lately the Princess has been under the protection of At'cu the Warmachine, Ethereal #7. He is her bodyguard until she becomes an Ethereal at the direct command of Kais. Be happy, I've seen At'cu and of all the Ethereals he's probably the least threatening. The only weapon he has is up here." With that, Homam taps his own forehead. "Keep that safe and he can't do much to you I don't think, but I'd research him all the same." He leans back in his as much as his rigid disciplined posture would allow. (You can still sense motive if you like) ——————————————————————
For Moriarti: You see the inquisitor drop into the street as though nothing to him. You think you see and hear someone in a nearby alley. (Spot and Listen checks) ——————————————————————
For Reth'noctis: You descend into the sewers with ease, and in the gloom see two half-orcs standing and discussing something about "Bleak" and "Lossterat" but you can't catch any more before they walk off down one of the many branching tunnels away from you without noticing you. ——————————————————————
For Riot: Currently you're doing your own thing, but you did note before starting to leave down the alley that the one man was still standing there after the Ethereal and Inquisitor left.

After Bleak was done speaking, Sochur took a moment registering what he had said, seeing if his words gave away any true intent he may have had.
"Mr. Bleak. While I am hesitant about killing anybody for business, I must say, you make a somewhat generous offer. I can assure you that we can get the job done. If you have any information that could be quite useful to us, I suggest you give it. It is very difficult to finish a job with no mission specs, after all. The sooner this is over, the better it would be. We can use anything. Her appearance, her usual whereabouts, her home, even a schedule of any guards she may have. Especially useful would be information on this At'cu the Warmachine fellow."
After his small speech, Sochur took a dramatic pause. "So, when should we get started?"

Dakavar nodded, "So, then Mr.Bleak? Or, should I rather say General Homam, you wish us to go against an Ethereal, In this business, that normally is not good for staying safely alive, elaborate on what you mean by his only weapon being in his mind, what sort of things can he do, and is only the Ethereal there, or are there other soldiers?" He slides in his chair, a slight smile lighting up his face as his eyes refocus. "It is not a good practice to leave information away from your would be allies."

The mercenary paused for a moment. Why does the phrase 'spidy senses tingling' come to mind? I mean, it doesn't make any sense. Did I forget something? He turned his head around to see a man who was almost assaulted by the Inquisitor still on his ass. Well, you never know where information comes up, and it never hurts to have a friend. And worst comes to worst, I can steal his wallet. Isaac spun on his heel and walked over to the man, offering his hand to help him up. "Now then, the scary man had a point - it's a bad idea around here to make yourself noticeable. A number of people like to call me Riot. I'm still trying to figure out why, but that's not the point. You are?"

For Dakavar and Sochur: "Well then, it seems you know who I am." He seems slightly agitated but unsurprised. "Also, I had to hear you say you agree first. You never show someone all the cards before you know if they're playing do you?" He nods and waves his hand, the replica of Asharis vanishes, and instead an image of a warforged, studded with crystals appears. "This, is At'cu the Warmachine. Ethereal #7, his name was originally 'All Type Combat Unit', since Warforged are 'born' without personalities and purposes, he was a lost, confused creature... until he found his way to the Aun'el. After learning their ways and being taken in... now he reveres Kais almost like a father or creator figure."
"If you hadn't noticed he's a very different kind of Warforged than the normal build, he's a Psiforged. He's 'All Type' in the sense that he can perform melee combat, ranged combat, some magical power, and even psionic combat. He's best versed in mental powers. He even developed his own unique and signature move... an ability called Memocrucify. Anyone who he afflicts with it will blank out and forget anything he wants them to. Trying to remember it invokes a terrible pain in the victim. If you shield your mind he has to fight you in the real world... as opposed to just making you forget your his enemies or against the Aun'el. Scary enough that this bastard can do something as potent as that and he's only #7. Worse still, I've heard the only reason he isn't #9 is because the current #8 and #9 spend so much time fighting they haven't been able to usurp his position." He stops and looks at you both, "You didn't think the Ethereals got along did you?"
He chuckles loudly in a booming voice that you can tell once commanded armies. "No, the Ethereals mostly hate eachother. Generally because the higher up their ranks you are, the closer you are to Kais. #1 almost never leaves his side. That bastard Elifax..." He shakes his head, as though dismissing a painful memory and continues: "Now, if I know the princess at all, she'd never stand for being under supervision. She's at a rebellious age and there's no way at all she'll sit calmly under the guard of At'cu. She's blonde, 17 years old, but with a small petit frame. You'd think she was 13. She usually wears very regal clothing and has her 'dolls' with her."
He stops, scratches his chin and waves the image of At'cu away, replacing it with the city again. "No, she won't have any other guards, why would the Aun'el think an Ethereal to be insufficient to the task? Who would be insane enough to kill the princess? No, you'll only have to deal with #7, I'd bet my reputation on it. If that ain't enough remember one damn good thing, I survived the 12 Hour War, so I'm not usually wrong. Any more questions?"

Reth'noctis decides to make use of the potential of this development and follows along behind the half-orcs, making himself unnoticable. [Hide 20+12=32, Move silently- automatic succ.] He glides through the edges of walls, and hangs back behind corners, so as not to be seen, but staying close enough to hear their conversation.

Just about the time this strange man walks up (Apprently I DONT need spot and listen checks. lol), he seems to come to his senses, ending his mental contemplations. Taking the mans hand, he pulls himself up from where he slumped to the ground against the wall after being released by the strange figure. "Riot is it? Strange name.. I'm..." Realizing he is still in the guise of the foreign lord, he pauses for a split second, taking a quick moment to gather his thoughts he continues. "Well I'm Lord Morval Ashton, of the lands of Onara." Smiling he continues. "As for being noticeable.. I fear it is an unfortunate side effect of my accent. Hard to stay unnoticed when everyone one can tell you are different just by talking to you." Looking around, he seems to be gauging where he is. "Well, I don't know about you, but after that encounter, I could sure use a drink. Know any good bars around here...perhaps one that isn't as haughty as that thrice damned Bluegrass?"
"Guess It couldn't hurt to know someone around here... I could use some more information about this princess lady... Besides, if it goes bad and he turns out to be working for them.. well then thats just one less Aun'el running around plaguing the place...

Isaac smirked. A lord? Hmm... something tells me he's hiding something, but no matter. "I know a couple of bars. Hell, I was just at one, but I wouldn't recommend it at the moment. I noticed a number of Fire troops there on the way out. Figure you'd like to stay away from the churchy bastards. I could use a good drink too after that crap. Come on." The merc led on to a nearby bar, one that didn't have to deal with as many of Aun'el's followers.
[ooc] Nick, if you wish to role play the convo that's likely to happen soon on AIM, lemme know. [/ooc]

"No wonder the pay is so good...No man in his right mind would want to face that thing." Sochur thought with an unchanging expression on his face, his years of proffesionalism catching up with him. "It does seem as though that could be quite potentially dangerous. No matter, though. I'm sure that we can handle the job." Sochur thought for a moment. Can you bring up a picture of the princess again? I want to make sure I got the face right."

"Hm, mental shielding, that`ll be hard to come by, unless you might have something for that General? I`d be willing to give up some of our pay for that if at all possible, else we might as well just die on this mission Sochur, the powers of the mind cannot be underestimated." He shakes his head, "The best thing to do, would basically be kill her first, then get out of there, if we strike, and leave, we could get out of there unharmed, I`d rather not get in a long drawn out fight with an Ethereal." He shakes his head, "Dimension door would work nicely for that, in and out."
