The Necropolis of the Lost: The first four floors of The Necropolis of the Lost in which you all make your home (unless you've acquired the Child of Vrtra favor) unless you live (or unlive) outside of the Necropolis, there is a town nearby named Gravekeep. There are rumored to be 13. Even as Vrtra's Exarch's you yourselves are unsure. Vrtra leaves the area intentionally vague as to confuse her enemies. The maps are not drawn to scale so do not try to apply any 5ft. squares or 10ft. squares and etc. towards the map. Details will be given regarding rooms on the maps as they are needed. As you are not likely to encounter enemies in your home territory (yet) the descriptions will be given at a later day. Favor System for Vrtra: All players start with 3 favor tokens. All favors that would be used in combat are considered a swift action. Current Favor Tokens: Nick 6 Dave 6 Max 5 Ben 7 Nate 3 FT Cost | Favor Name | Brief Description of the Favor | 1 | Energy Immunity | Immunity to dragon master's breath element for 2 minutes | 1 | Frightful Presence | Gain draconic frightful presence (based on Dragon Master's abilities) | 1 | Dragon Wing | Noncombat Flight ability | 2 | Draconic Reverie | A +4 bonus to next attack or saving throw, can be used after the results are known | 2 | Lair's Return | Word of Recall to dragon master's lair | 5 | Grafting | Acquire a deathless or undead graft |

Mission System: Missions will presented by your Dragon Master in three categories and five severities. They are as follows: Categories: - Offensive - This mission will take you into enemy lands and pit you against the forces of enemy dragons.
- Defensive - This mission is to root out potential problems within the territory of your Dragon Master.
- Investigation - This mission is to deal with third-party phenomenon such as non-Xorvintaal dragons, mysterious ruins, and more such things.
Severities: - A - This is an extremely dangerous mission and will likely result in at least one death.
- B - This mission is quite dangerous and may result in a death.
- C - This mission is risky but should not overly endanger any members.
- D - This mission is routine and should not pose too severe a challenge
- F - This mission is laughably easy and shouldn't harm the Exarchs
>>>Mission severity and category are decided by the Dragon Master, not by calculating Exarch strength. As such they are capable of being incorrect via deception or overestimating the Exarchs. Be aware that a "F-Rank Investigation" could quickly turn into an "A-Rank Offensive" if things go awry. Also, be aware these are only for the missions directly received from your Dragon Master. As Exarchs you have a good deal of free will and can thus perform activities beyond the scope of the missions given (Be advised this can yield negative favors or positive favors depending on the results of your 'independant plans/goals') <<<Starting information aside... let the games begin!!! The party is currently within a cave network some 180 feet below ground level. The walls are made of roughly-hewn stone that seems to have naturally carved itself through erosion and such over the course of many years. The room you are currently within is quite spacious and the ceiling hangs no less than 80 feet above with vicious stalactites and stalagmites dot the floor in gigantic spires that obscure and clutter the cavern. You followed a hidden entrance found on the surface to this underground grotto in search of an interloper in Vrtra's realm. "A lesser draconian" as Vrtra called it has apparently made a lair out of this area. The mission was classified as "Defensive C" and as a result you're all prepared (so if you wanted to cast any spells beforehand or prepare abilities/followers, you can take time to do so and it won't count against you here). Inside this area you've fought several lesser reptilians and found the carcasses of several greater beasts bearing extremely vicious wounds that oozed poison and death upon inspection. For this particular mission, Elisabetha, daughter of Vrtra is with you, having grown incredibly bored inside the Necropolis. She appears to be merely present in an observer capacity as she currently is holding no weapons and wears only her usual 'assortment' of clothing consisting of several things one would expect from a brothel's mistress. As you recollect yourselves to continue onward you hear a piercing roar from the far end of the cavern. Bursting through a stalactite in the ceiling (without even visibly flinching) the creature hurtles along just below the celing in a direction straight towards you. It appears to be a long, sleek, and very snakelike body with a cruel intelligence behind it's malicious eyes as it keeps its front raised up showing two arms that are already weaving spells. Lacking wings and rear legs it truly does appear to be some sort of snake-like creature... that appears larger than a snake up close despite it being over 80 feet away vertically alone. From this you can gather the creature is quite huge. The creature turns and glares at you and lets out a roar again, almost as if insulted it would not be called a dragon merely by your looks alone. "DEATH TO THOSE THAT WOULD DEFILE MY LAIR!!" it booms out and Elisabetha sighs audibly despite it, purring in her silky voice: "Oh my, it seems this might indeed be a B rank afterall. Good luck you guys... break a leg Shadow" Initiative rolls. Knowledge (Arcana) if you have it. Questions: if you got 'em, I'll answer 'em best I can. [ OOC] What... you didn't think I'd let you just start by enjoying a nice EbolaCola in the Necropolis did you?[ /OOC]

"What a nuisance," says Corruth as he gazed upon the creature with a bored look. Corruth closes his eyes with a scowl, and hears his other half screaming in the chaotic field that is his mind. "Kill the beast! KILL IT! I WILL have it's heart!!!" Corruth drew his scythe and turned incorporeal, as an insane glee began to spread across his face. From his quiet laughter, once could tell that the Dread Knight was amused. If you could see Zoken's face behind the helm, you've would've seen a wide grin. "A 'B' rank? Hardly. It's only big. A size hardly means little." Zoken raised his halberd high, ready to crash down upon his foe. The animated shield moved in front of him, ready to block anything. The knight focused his gaze upon the creature. The nightmare that he rode on merely snorted some smoke out and shook its head. The knight spoke once more: "Worthless scum. For Vrtra!!"
[ooc] Zoken is already in his punishing stance (-2 to AC but +1d6 damage) and his halberd has re-sized to large (thus doing 2d8). Knowledge arcana gives me a 19 and I'm going on a 20 init. [/ooc]
[EDIT: Forgot my mount ^^;; ]

Casually lurking in the shadows, not a sound coming from him, his shortsword out, the other hand free for spellcasting, and making sure to stay out of range of any light source carried by any of the group (Not sure if any of you carry light or not....) (Always staying in FRONT of the light source, not behind it just as a note), Shadow looks up at the incoming creature, a gleeful smile playing across his face. "What a stupid creature, thinking to stop us..Better get this one over with quickly." he thinks to himself, as he prepares to cast a spell, a broader smile playing across his face at Elisabetha's comment, although he doesn't reply.
[OOC] Hide: 12+36=48+10 (Shadowy conditions)=58 total Move Silently:18+28=46 Initiative: 19+14=33
Also, as a note im always in Assassin's stance(Especially when in a dungeon). [/OOC]

"That's it? That widdle thing?" Floating about mid-height in the cavern is a whispy outline of a man in fool's motley.
"Yup, hoss, that's that. It's a... a... whachamacallit?"
"Stupidhead?"
"Well, I was thinking of the race, but if you wanna get personal like with it already, then yea, it's a stupidhead. Though you couldn't think of nothing more elegant?"
"Stupidheads like that don't deserve our elegance, Denny." The ghostly and strangely dressed human that is Jeddidiah T. Haunt smirks and pats the dagger at his hip lightly, before pulling the eerie set of bagpipes into place, and playing out an even eerier tune. It is almost... sorrowful, yet as ever when played by Jed, there is the taint of both humor and cruelty behind the music.
"True, hoss, so true." The dagger glints in the light, and for those who hear it speaking, can almost hear a smile in it's tone.
((OOC: Initiative: 17+8 = 25
Song of Sorrow (Dirgesinger) on Stupidhead. Will save, DC 26 (? - it's either that or 34, but I read "10+the dirgesinger's ranks in Perform" so I regrettably say 26)
Knowledge Arcana: 1d20+20: 15+20= 35
Denny and Jed both get ready to mock and ridicule the beast no matter what it does...))

K(arcana) 16+20=36 Init 20+4=24 Cohort Init 18+9=27 (he controls the mount we are on)
Vrodash and Bratovich hover slightly off the ground on the skeleton of some winged serpent that they frequently ride on; Bratovich in the front, controlling it without any seeming reigns or other methods of control. "If she says its a B, its a B. That doesn't mean it will live any longer." Says the placid-seeming Vrodash (its hard to tell, though, as his fiendish helm obscures his face). Bratovich seems ready to move at any time.
[OOC]Bratovich is readying to move between me and any physical attacks. Vrodash is using Wield the Core (Fort DC 29). My mount is readying to move backwards if any large-area attacks come this way (fly 60' - perfect manuverability). [/OOC]

Though most of you cannot usually see him, Flin most likely floats among the group maybe 20 or so feet up.
Upon seeing some possible action Flin smiles wickedly, but again, most people can't see this...
"The bigger they are, the more blood they spill..."
Initiative: d20+11 = 26
(Don't have Knowledge: Arcana, but would auto the 10...)

As the creature finishes it's gestures and shouts a command word, an emerald shimmer appears centered on the group with a 20 foot radius (40 foot diameter). You may spellcraft to attempt to discern the spell.
Initiative Bar (It finished that spell before the round began, now we follow initiative):
Shadow (33) The Creature! (number unknown... nyahahaha) (The creature is around 70 feet off the ground and showing no signs of lowering) Bratovich (27) Flin (26) (Failed K-Arcana) Jed (25) (Passed K-Arcana) Vrodash (24) (Passed K-Arcana) Zoken (20) Corruth (15) (Failed K-Arcana)
The Creature quivers for a moment as though it's insides are attempting to rebel against it, but it quickly quells the internal uprising. Vrodash scowls as the creature barely (on the dot) resists "Wield the Core". The Creature hears the music and seems dulled after hearing, no less angry, but somewhat diminished from the haunting tune. ->Good job with posting your action beforehand Vrodash and Jed, if the circumstances change and you would like to perform some other action instead, feel free to do so on your initiative ok?<-

As the sphere begins to go into effect around them, Shadow merely smirks "Just proves how stupid it is.." he thinks to himself, as he activates one of his rings, and the green sphere disappears, reappearing partly against the wall to the right of the passage way. It looks as if the sphere has been centered at the very base of the wall, right at ground level, so taht only 1/4 of it is sticking out into open air.
With an almost imperceptible chuckle he waves his hand over himself, saying a few words of arcane, before disappearing from all view, and then moving 30 feet closer to the creature.
[ooc] Activates Ring of SpellBattle(Immediate action on the creatures turn). Casts Greater Invis. Moves 30 feet.[/ooc]

The creature visibly scowls at the sphere moving away from the group and quickly begins chanting another spell. This one has a particularly dreaful cadence and it's gestures involve much shaking...
and then it points at the ceiling above the party as it completes the final word. A deafening rumble is heard and the sound of stone cracking, shattering, and shifting is unmistakeable. As the noises reach a crescendo, the ceiling cracks and several large and dangerous chunks of rock tear free, falling to the ground below in an 80 foot radius spread centered above the party. The Creature laughs maniacally and begins to retreat from whence it came (only about 30 feet backwards as the spell took a good deal of energy) as several tons of rock fall before finally settling.
Everyone needs to make me reflex saves. DC15 for half damage. Unsaved damage is 38. Spellcraft DC is (15+8)=23. Anyone who failed the reflex save is also pinned beneath the rubble.

Vrodash uses an immediate action and 11 rebuke undead uses to counterspell the spell targeting the ceiling (the one causing it to collapse); thus negating the damage, rock fall, and related maniacal laughter.
Bratovich sends his mount upwards to the enemy, attempting to slam it with his fist. Attack: 11+13=24 Damage: 1d6+7+2 neg levels (and 16hp with them) As he does this, his boned flying beast causes itself to become invisible (as a spell-like ability - Invisibility)

Flin moves swiftly through the air to his target, and slashes Vicious at his target. All the while suppressing the need to laugh at this beasts complete ineffectiveness.
Moves 120 ft to Charge and Attack
Attack Roll: 17+21 + 2 = 40 (Flatfooted, unless he can see Invis) Confirm: 10+21 + 2 = 33 (to Confirm Critical)
Damage: 1+12 = 13 (Will Save; immune if HD > 5[doubt this one will work but, hey you never know...]) Critical: 1+12 = +13 (extra) Sneak Attack: +2d6 = 12 + Bleeding Wound Sudden Strike: +1d6 = 5 + Bloody Blade (Will Save; immune if HD > 11)
Total: 43 damage + Bleeding Wound + 2 Will Saves (though it is probably immune to both...) {This total assumes that it was a successful Critical Sneak Attack Sudden Strike}

Jed's music shifts into a crescendo of mighty death and doom, and the very air around him seems to swirl with pure horror, as a spooky wailing begins to emit from somewhere, followed by a harsh, high pitched scream and murderous laughter.
"Mwhahahahahaa...hack, cough... ugh. Hoss, I really don't think the scream and the laugh fit. I'm just sticking with the wailing, ok?" Denny starts to wail spookily again, but his whispering is none too easy to hear, so for those watching, Jed is truly creating a rather ghastly sight and eerie sound.
((OOC: Daunting Presence [Libris Mortis, pg 25] to make Stupidhead becomes shaken. Will save, 25.
...what? You guys thought an undead bard would be combat effective?
Also, Jed readies his immediate action to laugh at Stupidhead's failure, ie, Vicious Lampoon [MM5, pg 82-ish] further reducing his morale and fighting capabilities.
...ok, so I'm slightly effective. Those 'on the dots' will be harder to hit.))

Zoken spurred his nightmare into action and charged the creature. Fiery hooves leap into the air, carrying the knight with it. With a loud cry, he brought his blade down upon the skull of the creature, putting every bit of power behind it.
[Summary: Zoken and his nightmare charge the creature. 19+4+17 = 40 to hit. (6+8)+12+10+4+2 (vile) = 42 damage (2 of which is vile). I now take -2 to my AC from the charge. ]
