So I found an idea posted on the GiTP forums that a guy had for a game where the PC's were locked in a graveyard for one night and had to face infinitely spawning undead. I was thinking about running a similar game where the PC's are teleported to a dungeon instead of a graveyard and must survive similar wave upon wave of zombies, skeletons, wights, etc, etc, until either they all die or the night passes. I expect the former before the latter*.
I would make a DM post at a regular time every day denoting all monster actions, and the start of the next round. All players would then have 24 hours to post their action, or else they will forfeit their action for that round and the game will move forward without them.
I talked to Dave about this last night and know that he's interested. Anyone else?
*Considering one night being 6 hours, that equates to 3600 rounds; if one round passes per day, that will take 10 years to finish. So,

Sounds good, what kind of level/restrictions we looking at here? Definitely sounds fun, I like the dichotomy of something like: "Do I play a wizard and have a lot of potential awesome but limited? Or do I play a fighter to keep on trucking through the thick and thin?" Definitely interested here.

Sounds interesting, how would things like healing and spell regen happen? Or would we be doing this without that sort of stuff and see how long we could last?

Your spell slots, HP, and uses/day will reset every time you level.

I like it!
I'm guessing this would be D&D 3.5? And would Clerics be a no-no? I could see them being far too powerful for this kind of game.
Also, I put forward that Pathfinder rules would be cool for this, and possibly better for the cleric situation (it's a fine balance to use the channel energy to harm vs. heal)

Sounds like fun to me. What level we looking at and what books are available?

Also, just came up with a question...
What about equipment. Since it seems we will be fighting enough to level up a few times, what about new equipment/gold and time to spend it? How is that going to be handled?

Items will be scattered throughout the dungeon. They should be sufficient for upgrades. For simplicity's sake, there will be no gold on kills, nor opportunities to spend it. Starting gold will be about 1-2000 gold, and starting level will be 3.

Looks like there's enough interest, so I'll post campaign info.

For everyone thats interested and considering characters, I'm looking at going for the Main tank here. High AC, Hitpoints, and other such defensive things, with High damage output secondary. Thinking along the lines of Knight if I can find something that will let me affect the undead with my knights challenges...... barring that Fighter + Full plate + tower shield... or maybe something from Tome of battle... haven't quite decided what i'll do if knight doesn't work out.

I'm thinking I'll play my character idea from the Zetsumei game. So a Force Mage. If we absolutely need it, I can a healer instead...
My only question for the way the game is going to run is, asking for a possibility of being able to upgrade stuff instead of being left with an extraordinary amount of useless stuff as we progress...
My thought was something sort of like the Left 4 Dead safe rooms. Since the concept is magically based, maybe have stations or something that we can use to trade stuff in. I could definitely see major limits on what we could do, but that would let us specialize a few things that might not be possible to get via the more random charts...

Doesn't your force mage consist VERY highly (if i remember right) on wands that use charges? you know.. disposable? The kind of thing that doesn't get rechared at a level up.... the kind of thing you may not be guaranteed to get regularly? Just curious, not saying you can't play it, just making an observation.
Also, as a note, ive been looking and If i decide not to go Knight I may just go Pally with some sort of PRC.... haven't decided what yet....who knows..

Lol Warlock would probably work amazingly well here.... I just hope I can find something to make Knight work for me.. cause I think it would work awesome.. and I wouldnt even need a PRC..... The Knights 20th level ability is so awesome. "I live for 20 rounds past being dead! And I'm talking like neg 3000 dead!! WOOT! Oh.. and did I mention that if I get enough healing I don't die when that ends either? WOOT!!" Lol.
