Barth grabs one of the swords and straps it to his belt. He then begins to look through the Druid's pockets (assuming his clothing/gear is around. If not, I search for it) looking mainly for an identification of some kind (a seal, jewelry, something) and then valuables and other evidence. "I know some Druids- wait- no, I don't know any Druids, but I AM sure that this particular Druid's friends would like to know of this. I mean, I'd like to know if something bad happened to you guys- wait- yeah, definitely. Better off knowing. Speak of the devils, you're right, we should go flag them down."
Barth helps make a lot of noise to bring the party back this direction. He also takes a look at the blood trail to the Druid to see if it was dripped (and if he was carried or wounded) or dragged.

Barth searches through the Druid's clothes (still on his body) but finds nothing of value, symbolic or otherwise. Dom takes two of the swords and Barth takes the third, but it is somewhat difficult considering they were supporting the body of the dead druid. Barth is unable to tell anything about the blood trail from his cursory glance as he and Dom hurriedly make their way to catch up with the group.
Ian and Deian, approaching the edge of the woods but sticking to the trees, see the iron defenders joining up with a host of armed soldiers who seem totally unperturbed by the metal hounds bounding towards them. They appear to be unlike anyone you've ever seen before (as they are not guards, they are quite clearly soldiers) and this one group you see numbers at least one hundred strong from a rough count. Their armor is all painted black and ranges from suits of leather armor to chain-mail with one figure seen wearing a breastplate. The iron defenders join a pack of six more metallic hounds all standing near a group of black robed wizardly looking sorts. There also appear to be two black-skinned trolls heavily bound and shackled that you suspect are used for transporting supplies and masses of equipment without burdening the group. Both trolls have a specially unique looking man standing nearby wearing little armor at all and equipped with clawed or bladed gauntlets. Each individual has, somewhere on their body (a tattoo or paint) or equipment (engraved or painted, or etc.), that same Hawk-like mark in either a silvery chrome color or in black. Their features are all strikingly grim. Each one has dark hair and sharp features on rather pale skin. There are numerous races in their mix such as dwarves, elves, and half-orcs, but they seem to be predominantly human for the most part.
They seem to be encamped here on the far edge of the woods, a location normally quite out of sight and out of the way from the town of Heart-Stone. Deian hears words barked in command but does not understand them, something like: "REHLEEEEG KRUU HA!" but as they are shouted the group seems to be forming up into ranks. They have not noticed you yet, but with so many eyes and them coming to ready, it will not be long before you are seen if you stay nearby.
-Knowledge (History) DC25 will reveal (it is in white color, highlight to read) that these soldiers bear all the marks and features of the lost country of Erebus. -It is currently late afternoon and the sun is setting, you've been walking around for a good while in the woods, and this escapade has taken its own time. -Barth and Dom are catching up but if you head back you can meet up with them sooner (and hopefully stop them making noise which might give you away!) -Deian, need a bluff check to make a suitably 'bird like' whistle. If you were a ranger or higher level than one I'd give it to you, otherwise no can do without a roll.

Deian knows when he is in over his head, he backs up to make sure he will not be seen. He tries to be able to see them should they start to move.
I figured that since he is a Scout, one trained for exploration, and he knows about nature, that knowing a few ways to subtly signal people was appropriate. I figured Rangers and Scouts were pretty similar in that respect... If you still want it, Bluff 19 - 1 = 18

Considering that Ian was up near the edge with Deian, he will slowly move back until the trees cover him from view. After that he will turn and move back towards the druids body at as quick a pace as he can manage, keeping an eye out for dom and barth.

what direction did they seem to be forming up to move in?

-Ian did not know about the druid's body, only the wolf. -You could not tell their direction from them forming up, you're not really familiar with militaristic movements, let alone who is in charge of their army and the like. Without really knowing its front from its back you can't make any sound judgments on it.

Barth and Dom quickly catch up to the now-withdrawing Ian and Deian, who (so it doesn't have to be posted) quickly inform them of what they saw and heard. Ian and Deian were able to slip away without being seen, but the sun is setting and the sky is darkening, making the woods cast long shadows. This, and the general mood set by recent events makes the forest seem a very unpleasant and unwelcoming area, even more-so than usual.
[cOMMUNISM, you meet them on the edge of the woods as they come out, having come to catch up to them later than planned due to some other circumstance (the guard couldn't find you this morning or something) that will be overlooked.]

"We need to get back to town and warn them of whats going on, immediately." Turning towards town he begins moving towards it at as fast a pace as possible, even running if possible. (if running, I move at 160 ft per round) When he gets to town he will immediately try to locate the Captain, asking the nearest guard where he might be found.

Barth keeps up with the slowest person and returns to town as well.

In the distance, a dark cloud hangs low to the ground, growing ominously closer with every passing moment. As it quickly closes the distance, a blue standard becomes visible from the tip of an upraised lance, and shortly thereafter the form of a small rider is visible. The last few hundred feet are closed in the blink of an eye as the creature sprints across the grass with nary a labored breath. The small rider quickly removes his helm and by now it is obvious that he is a halfling, as he lacks the solid form of a dwarf. The first thing one notices about the man is the incredibly large brown handlebar mustache which spills forth from both sides of his face, giving him an appearance like a walrus. He quickly calls out to the others as he approaches,
"Sir Tolman Marca Proudfoot is here to save you all! Say, where are the creatures who have been terrorizing the townfolk? I must go forth and slay them in valiant battle, yes, yes, that should work...I hope you have not killed them all already, that just wouldn't do, no, not at all. Damned. I do hate oversleeping, I should chastise the servants when I return for not awakening me when the messager came...""
He continues talking to himself for a moment before realizing that noone will reply until he gives them a chance. The dog-like creature on which he is mounted paces slowly in-front of them shooting wary looks into the woods behind the others.

"Fall back to the city and for the love of the gods be quiet! we will fill you in more when we get there." Dom hisses as loud as he dares and runs past the strange halfling knight. Dom sprints about 100 yards then stops and turns holding a flash arrow nocked and ready to fire until everyone passes him then repeats this leap frog until they are back to the town.

Without even stopping he calls over his shoulder. "If you want to die, run on valiant Crusader. If you want to live, haul your ass back to town."

You make it back to town without any incident, leaving the woods menacingly behind you. Night is slowly settling in and torches are being lit around town, the people bustling around even into the darkening horus. You can't sense or see any kind of disturbance, though there is a nagging sensation at the edge of your perceptions. You quickly approach a guard who leads you to Finster, standing atop the watchtower on the Southern edge of town.
He has a stern look of disapproval, likely owing to the fact that you're here to speak to him which can not mean anything good, "You boys find something I should know about? I've had about as much bad news today as I already care to hear." and his face remains worn and weary in a way you've never seen on him before. "I'll lay it on you boys now, so you don't have to gossip for it. The Oathsworn of the Pine have been taking losses. They had been investigating unusual animal behavior in the area. The druids bodies have been turning up all over, we found two today while you were out and these aren't the first two; obviously whatever they found didn't like being found." he sighs deeply, "At least Oswald made it, but the man is torn up on the inside by the deaths in his order. I plan on visiting him in their grove here when time allows." He stares upward at the stars, and gestures quietly with a handmotion for you to tell him what you've found out.
