[OOC] The current situation is as follows: You were woken up fairly early, by Bethana Corwin, a maid that works at the Rusty Dragon. Once you were all gathered, she informed you that Ameiko, the owner/barkeeper of the Rusty Dragon is missing, having not slept in her bed last night (therefore missing for at least 6-10 hours). After realizing this, she found a note, which she has shown you (or at least a translation of it that she wrote on the backside). The note was written by Ameiko's [half] brother Tsuto, and Bethana suspects foul-play. Now, Dave is currently without internet, so I understand why he hasn't been posting. Hopefully he will be back to having contact soon. Until then, we will wait patiently. Before that I would like to confirm a few things. Lorania is currently gathering her things to go investigate the Glassworks, Cale seems to have agreed to go with her, but Beric seems to wish instead to wait nearly 12 hours before doing so... Be aware, this is the DM saying "Are you sure?" I will wait for a response from cOMMUNISMISFANCY as well as Dave before proceeding. ladycin, Lord of Blades, and (cough) Cadic's Devoted(cough) are welcome to continue interacting until then. Lorania finishes gathering her things and comes back down to get the other... [/OOC]

Perhaps I was mistaken on the timing of the events, but I thought we were waiting until the appropriate time written in the note, if that is not what everyone else is doing, then I will leave sooner to help investigate.

the note was found crumpled up on the floor of Ameiko's room. It was from Tsuto, to Ameiko. Ameiko most likely left last night before sleeping, therefore the time listed in the note has already passed...
If there was any confusion, I apologize, but the time is currently about 8:30am, and there would be no feasible reason to wait until midnight...

That does make a difference for Beric then, he will begin making preparations to join the others.

Lorania paces and waits for everybody to be ready. A rather kindly gesture in her opinion. When everybody is ready she nods and starts off towards the glassworks.

Part 3:As you make your way to the Glassworks, you can clearly see the plumes of smoke rising from the building. When you arrive however, the building appears curiously quiet. There does not appear to be any movement, and all of the windows you can see appear to have the curtains drawn. The door on the South Side of the Building appears to be the primary shop entrance. The door on the West side seems to be a back door of sorts, while the double door on the East side seems to be for loading. The single door on the East side of the building seems to be a door to the office for custom orders.

Beric smiles to himself as he approaches the Glassworks, taking a moment to examine the building carefully for any ambushes before he approaches the double door to the east to see if it appears to be unlocked.

Cale also cases the building once, attempting to look like a nonchalant passerby, before he follows Beric to the double door, thinking it unwise to split the group up when they are unsure what awaits them inside. Cale quietly reminds Beric of the order for knocking, if he wants to try it. (from the note: "Knock twice and then three times more and then once more at the delivery entrance and I’ll let you in.")

Humming the same melody he had set the line too earlier, Beric knocks twice, then three times, then once more. The bird on hit shoulder twitters along as he does so, bobbing its plumed head. Beric continues humming to himself softly as he waits.

A quick scan of the building reveals more of the same, the curtains are drawn with little else noticeable. Moving on towards the delivery entrance, which is locked, and knock in the pattern you read about. After a short while nothing appears to be happening, and after a few more moments you are called to by a passing villager.
"That's the wrong door... they use that one for deliveries, you probably want that one over there," the man points down to the other side of the building. "though, its a bit strange, haven't seen many people moving about today. They must be working on a special project or some such..."
The man moves on, and when you watch him go you notice a few other people quickly avert their gaze and continue on their way as well.

Lorania, getting impatient, pulls her lock picks from her belt pouch and hastily picks the lock (17+9=26 open lock). she then steps aside and bows comically, gesturing towards the door.

Lorania hears the satisfying click as she finishes opening the lock holding the door closed. When she straightens up from her bow she quickly notices a small group of people that have gathered to watch as your small group, as you are apparently trying to break into the Glassworks in broad daylight.
One particularly bold woman steps forward and calls out to you "What's going on here?"

Beric's face immediately broadens into a wide smile as he takes in the group of nearby villagers, his deep blue eyes twinkling in the midday sun.
"Well hello, madam, it appears that nothing escapes the watchful eyes of this town, thankfully that will make our jobs much easier. Kendra Deverin, your kind and gracious mayor of Sandpoint has asked us to keep an eye on the town during Sheriff Hemlock's absence. We have reason to believe that some mischief may be afoot here and it would be best if you stayed out of this area for the rest of the afternoon while we take care of any dangers that might abound. It may be why many of you have noticed a lack of activity about the Glassworks today. I would take the time to more fully explain our situation, but I fear lives may be at risk and you had best let qualified heroes handle the situation."
Upon mentioning qualified heroes, Beric makes a broad display at pointing out Lorania and Cale. He offers the woman a low bow, smiles at her once more, and turns back to the task at hand. He pushes his way through the now unlocked delivery door and into the glassworks.

Cale follows, chuckling quietly under his breath, a hand on his sword and alert against danger, expecting to be attacked in a paranoid kind of way.

Lorania at least makes some attempt to conceal her eye roll (bluff check 5) at Beric's over-dramatized explanation, although doesn't bother to hide her raised brow at the description "qualified heros". She nods to the assembly and follows Cale inside. Once in, she looks around (12+5=17 spot check).
